Anything and everything BEER

Recommended Posts

Reading both of you "experienced" men lend advice in this area turns my stomach a bit.

Have some of the pale ale, it will calm your tummy down.

i'm not much of a beer drinker and made the mistake of drinking some dogfish double whammy stuff..... i'll stick to pbr

Well start with some nice pale ales and work your way up. Going from PBR to double anything is going to be too strong. It is an aquired taste.

MY GF had the same response, so I turned her on to Saisons and Witts. Now she loves them

Not in Socal. It had its time about 5-6 years ago.

Aye, Cali is in the midst of the great craft beer renaissance. I can't walk out my front door without tripping over four or five brewmasters trying to steal my doormat to make the next great Sneaker Stout.

I am on a Green Flash kick at the moment. It's my brewery du jour.

Currently imbibing (literally, at the moment):

I bought them at room temperature at Total Wine (greatest store ever). The first one I allowed to get too cold in the freezer. The second was cool and a better temperature.

This pours pitch black, like motor oil black. You can definitely taste chocolate, malt, coffee. It's fairly boozy at 8.8 ABV, so don't rifle them down like a Guinness or Murphy's.

Also have in the fridge:

I don't know if this is their "answer" to Russian River's Pliney the Younger, but it's their triple IPA.

One of my favourites...they also have a non-nitro milk stout that is very good as well...

Arrogant Bastard finally made it over the border to Canada...not sure what I expected but it wasn't worth the wait...
