Televised Games
Mods feel free to move this if it has a better home elsewhere. I am paying 185 a month for just the TV portion of my cable bill, I have a strong urge to kill it but am worried about being able to watch the games without cable. I have Peacock, is there a reliable streaming service that shows every game? Or even just the games that don't appear on Peacock? Will pay for another service as long as it isn't a whole other 185 dollar a month fee.

2025 Preseason Team Complaint Department
Chief complaint: talent disparity between ND and big guys. When (and how the heck) are we going to load up with enough depth to win the big game? Is it going to happen or will we need the "luck o' the Irish"?

Bowden leaving for USC
Sounds like Blanchard is a no go. Not sure why. Making a deep run in the playoffs and not winning is sadly worse case scenario for ND. The perfect storm of having sought after commodities and being late to the party to backfill those roles is going to make it tough to have continued success.

Pretty eye-opening, the amount schools pay to win championships. Ohio State's athletics budget deficit nearly $38 million in 2024 OSU and Texas top 2 spenders for D1 athletic department. Granted, there is basketball splashed in there as well, but you get a sense of what the top schools are willing to spend for a trophy.

So what now? I was reading that OSU had 14 or 15 5-Star recruits on the field for the NC game to our 1 5-Star recruit. It is the time of year for me to ask, how do we start to close the talent gap? It is crazy to get to the championship game like we did but not be able to get over the last hump because our best and strongest are walking wounded while OSU has 5-star players on their bench. I think MF can bring a championship, but it would certainly give him better odds if he was in a place where we have to play our best game while they play their worst. Can we close the gap or is it the same as it was 20 years ago, just with players getting paid above the board instead of below?

2024-25 Notre Dame Transfer Portal Tracker
Kind of a tough one. There is no question about Morrison’s ability, even now he is a first-round grade. It feels like the NFL has seen enough to take him and another year only shortens his overall lifespan and he runs the risk of another possibly more severe injury. Unless he feels like he has some unfinished business, I can’t see him staying.

What Stuck Out To You In The 2024-2025 Season
Loved the back-to-back pick 6s. For me, Jeremiyah Love hurdle vs. USC. Also, Talich (I think) had a special teams tackle that made my teeth rattle, I think it was against Penn St. Price had a great touchdown against SC this year to go with his kickoff return TD last year, I think he just has a deep buried hate of SC that fuels his subconscious.

CFP National Championship Game: #7 Notre Dame vs #8 Ohio State
After a night’s rest (not a good one but sleep nonetheless), I am a bit more level-headed. Last night hurt, going to be tough coming back from that. Anecdotally, I remember him having a bad game against SC and getting picked on quite a bit, with him able to pull off the pick-six to stop the bleed. Looking at his stats for the season, there is not much to complain about, it is just unfortunate that he was the guy who got burned when we needed a big play. He is a sophomore and hopefully, we get two more years to see him develop into a championship-caliber CB.

What Did We Learn?
Before this season Shaw and Charlie Weis’s front butt were the other 2. Might need to dynamite Shaw out of there though.

What Did We Learn?
Ryan Day is on my Mt Rushmore of hate. He is actually two of the four faces.

Good question. Have to wonder if they are going to keep and develop Carr or if the world has moved on and we need to just shop for a proven quantity from a feeder school.

What Did We Learn?
Raspberry. Obviously, not in a place to feel positive right now so I will play the heel, go ahead and throw fruit at me. So long Al Golden, not feeling sad to see you go. Chip Kelly made you look stupid. Gray got exposed against USC and you couldn’t figure out in the following six weeks how to help plug that hole. Denbrock is off my Christmas list. Love has been hurting for weeks and we couldn’t figure out any way to make things better aside from letting Riley Leonard play street ball. This looked like every other ND team to me: outmuscled and overmatched. Just didn’t have the depth to keep up with the big guys. All we are going to hear for the next seven months is that we beat a beat-up GA, and Indiana and Penn St teams that didn’t belong. It isn’t all doom and gloom. ND exceeded expectations but I would be lying if I said I thought we were close to winning a title. This game actually stung worse than the past couple of beatdowns to me, that first drive made me feel like we were going to compete and then just an absolute meltdown. Did Golden watch any game film or did he wing it while he was interviewing figuring that he could watch the first half and just adjust at halftime? Maybe I will feel less prickly tomorrow, but tonight I learned nothing about this team that I didn’t already know.
