I hope it’s true, this would only help with Dante Moore I assume?

I hope Harbaugh doesn't go to the Bears, which is also a strong rumor. Not because he hasn't been successful in the NFL, but I personally cannot stand him. Send him to the Raiders.

Not even close to the same thing... but nice try. You and the "players getting the pie" posters can have your fun.

You're completely right, it is way worse. Jim Harbaugh has a contract with the University whereas the players do not. Breaking your deal to move on? Unthinkable.

Why are all HCs not paid the same amount of money? Shouldn't the HC of Miami of Ohio make the same amount as the HC of Alabama? Why should some make over $10MM a year and others make < $1 MM to coach a non-profit sport?

Also if he leaves after signing day....

It's not a money thing. It could be a respect thing though as he took a pretty good paycut last year.

He's always relished the NFL but there weren't other opportunities around for him by the time SF let him go.. UM got lucky he was available..

I think it’s a money thing. He’s seen what other big time coaches just got paid and he just had his team in the playoffs. Just doing what Brian Kelly did. Win, get paid.

I’ll bet he’s at Michigan next year but making a few million dollars more.

This ^^^^.  I don't think he's leaving either.  Remember that his pay was cut in half this year?  He was forced to take it or leave.  He took it and his staff also had their pay cut.  So I think this is a little come uppance.  Hey, we are looking; you either pay us or we walk.

He may have made the playoffs, but he still got embarrassed…. Michigan may let him go the same way we let BK take a hike.

I guess it also depends on how much $$$ the Raiders throw at him to wash off the Gruden.

FYI that twitter specifically posts fun at message boards and posts the most outlandish "confirmations" and "inside sources"

Brian Kelly didn't leave for the money either. If it was the money he would have shopped LSU's offer with Swarbrick or at least mentioned it. Brian Kelly thinks it's easier to win at LSU than South Bend, that's the main reason he left.

Go back and read articles about Harbaugh at Stanford. There was no amount of money Stanford(which can afford to pay coaches big time money btw) or any other college team could have thrown at him to keep him in college.

He's a competitive dude who wants to win on the highest level. I can't blame him. Even at Michigan he's fighting with one hand tied behind his back to compete against SEC schools who have and will have paid for rosters.

If it was solely about the money why would he have given several million of his bonus to UM staffers this year?

I'll give you that it's about the money in terms of being competitive. I think I'm worth more than this idiot who's making X in the NFL but I don't think he's driven by the almighty dollar so his wife can buy a new land rover.
