They may have someone in house already, someone who is ready to take over. 3x salary is a big jump esp when they just made a big jump last year when Mich came around.

So one of the reasons for Knowles leaving (and the rumor is Oklahoma) is that apparently his Fiancé/Girlfriend/Wife (I forget which) lives in Oklahoma. I believe that is why he was long rumored to be going to OU and my impression is that opened up the idea about taking a look at other opportunities, or rather schools reaching out if he was already open to leaving. Also, on a personal note, sometimes once you reach the mountiantop, you want a new challenge. That part is pure speculation on my behalf. Either way, OSU wont let him go easily/cheaply

Dont really buy it. These guys were all ones that would be in fight for playing time next year. My guess is the communication is that they couldnt get guaranteed a starting spot or plan for next year. .

They randomly do it. The FSU game in 2021 was a sunday. Its usually decided by the TV networks and big games that weekend since the NFL hasnt started yet

Honestly not surprised by either of these. Both would be in STEEP competition this fall from injured/new/younger guys. They gained a ton of experience this year and want to capitalize on it at a place where they can be the veteran. Both had been beaten out earlier in the year and started due to injuries. Both have their degrees as well.

Be prepared to be surprised then. S&C coaches dont typically come and go. Also this was the more physical team than every other opponent this year, including UGA and Texas AM in the heat to open the season.
