Why would Elston go if JH is leaving? Can’t imagine he was offered the HC job if JH would leave.

Things change. Elston sang ND praises and talked about staying and it goes beyond football for him. Then a month later he was gone. The list of coaches saying one thing and doing another is a mile long.

No disagreement there. Hope Elston’s agent but a clause in his contract that any new HC has to keep him for a year otherwise that was a poor tactical decision on his part to leave. Guess that’s also assuming Freeman wanted to keep him.

From just a recruiting perspective, Al Washington seems to be an upgrade over Elston
