No. I think Dante genuinely doesn’t know where he wants to go and is exploring every opportunity he has available to him. He doesn’t gain anything by silently committing to Notre Dame - especially now that he’s literally their only option.

I honestly don’t think Buchner is guaranteed to start like everyone else does. I think he should be the starter, because he has the tools to elevate the offense. But when’s the last time Notre Dame under Kelly and now Rees went with high ceiling over high floor, you know?

I actually agree somewhat in that I’ve seen nothing to make me think Rees knows what to do with a QB who isn’t a game manager. TBH, I wouldn’t be shocked if Pyne starts next season at QB. He won’t be the more talented QB, or even the best option, but I think he’s the one with the “traits” that make Rees more comfortable. Hope I’m wrong.

You can pin as much blame for the situation at WR on Tommy as you can Brian or Del. He’s the OC - if he cared about how dire the situation could be at WR, he could have taken control of the recruiting operation. But he didn’t and here we are.

This is a perfect example of seeing what you want to see. You’re within your rights to be freaked out by that, but it seems pretty clear from your previous comments that you already weren’t confident in the Freeman hire. I’d rather have him than Vizzina because an Alabama offer will eventually come and he’ll dip as soon as it does. Rees has shown that he’s a sucker when recruits say they aren’t leaving and he apparently doesn’t believe in backup plans.

That decision throws everything Marcus said about his vision for the program into question. If you can’t make the decision to yank Del when literally everything says he can’t do the job, then how am I going to believe anything you’ve said?
