I agree. They have some seemingly really good young players. When was the last time we had 3 guys that were 6'9" and athletic? I think we're missing some consistent shooting right now. Shrews will hit 2 in a row and then completely miss the back board.

I have to throw my 2 cents in about the officiating. There were 0 penalties called against a 4-4 team that has been decently penalized this year so far. I read a stat that this is the first time since 1952 that they have had 0 penalties called on them in a game. Did that cost us the game - no, but maybe some holding calls, etc, could have helped.

I think we're getting into slippery slopes after this year. The last two years it was needed (even though we didn't last year). With Carr coming in and Knight after, I get worried about the message of bringing one in next year. Unfortunately, after we see Carr in the spring, it probably would be too late to get any top notch transfer. The flip side, is you shoot for the moon and then just don't care about the impact it has on your roster or future recruits as long as you win now.

I am trying not get down on him, as he only had 2 targets. I would say though, I would expect a little more competitiveness on the underthrown deep ball. He's 6'4". Go get that thing and make a play.

True. That was how I rationalized it. Hopefully there will be plenty of opportunities. I'd really like to see him get in for a series earlier in a game after we are up a few and not wait until the last 3 minutes though.

The only negative for me was that we again failed to get a back up QB some quality time. I'm not sure why Angeli wasn't in towards the start of the quarter. How big of a cushion did we need?

Van Lubin into portal - odd move to me as he would have been a key piece next year. Must just want out.

This is about as great a hire as we could have hoped for! Super excited. Now he just needs to rebuild the dumpster fire he was left with!

He's been a good coach for us, but it is time for sure. I am excited to see who we get. Would Chris Quinn be a candidate? I'm trying to think of someone other than Inglesby with ND ties. No way Monte would take a step down I wouldn't think.

What coaches are out there? A feel good story would be Inglesby, but I don't know enough about him now to know if he is a program changer.

I wonder if at any other school, the coach would have been fired after last night, with that being the capper of a dreadful season so far. How much worse can it get for this team? I keep thinking we'll have a miraculous turn around, but it seems to be getting worse. I think Brey has completely lost this team - some of his post game comments last night sounded like a concession speech.

8 is a good number. 7 this year is about it currently.
