    No. I think Dante genuinely doesn’t know where he wants to go and is exploring every opportunity he has available to him. He doesn’t gain anything by silently committing to Notre Dame - especially now that he’s literally their only option.

    I honestly don’t think Buchner is guaranteed to start like everyone else does. I think he should be the starter, because he has the tools to elevate the offense. But when’s the last time Notre Dame under Kelly and now Rees went with high ceiling over high floor, you know?

    I actually agree somewhat in that I’ve seen nothing to make me think Rees knows what to do with a QB who isn’t a game manager. TBH, I wouldn’t be shocked if Pyne starts next season at QB. He won’t be the more talented QB, or even the best option, but I think he’s the one with the “traits” that make Rees more comfortable. Hope I’m wrong.

    You can pin as much blame for the situation at WR on Tommy as you can Brian or Del. He’s the OC - if he cared about how dire the situation could be at WR, he could have taken control of the recruiting operation. But he didn’t and here we are.

    This is a perfect example of seeing what you want to see. You’re within your rights to be freaked out by that, but it seems pretty clear from your previous comments that you already weren’t confident in the Freeman hire. So you’re going to approach comments like this with that predisposition. Me? I think they made the right decision with hiring Marcus. And I think this is a harmless comment.

    I don’t know about the free board, but Blue and Gold and its writers are moving to On3 on Jan. 1. There will still be a ND Rivals site, though, and it’ll be staffed by Eric Hanson and Tyler James on Jan. 1.

    I’d rather have him than Vizzina because an Alabama offer will eventually come and he’ll dip as soon as it does. Rees has shown that he’s a sucker when recruits say they aren’t leaving and he apparently doesn’t believe in backup plans.

    That decision throws everything Marcus said about his vision for the program into question. If you can’t make the decision to yank Del when literally everything says he can’t do the job, then how am I going to believe anything you’ve said?

    They had to go HAM for WRs and look how it turned out. I have zero faith in Del on this.

    From what I’ve been told about Gibbons, he has been a problem in the locker room and on the sidelines. He openly campaigned for someone else, and caused a stink when UCF hired Gus. And I guess he wasn’t much of a leader after getting injured.

    They need to get out some new WR offers right now, and call some old targets to see if they're interested. Under no circumstances can this team have four people in the WR room next year, if Austin, Lenzy and Davis don't return. Completely unacceptable.

    I definitely don’t get it either. Other than being close to home and people being in his ear from Mater Dei, I don’t understand why he’d flip to a USC team in disarray without a coach. Yet he visited, and one insider from on3 said they felt like he was ready to flip.

    It looks like McFerson just committed. Also, how nervous should we be about CJ Williams visiting USC? Those quotes were rough.

    Agreed. Buchner is clearly talented, but I'm not even sold that he's a sure fire bet to pan out. They *have* to aim high and hit big on the 2023 class because they won't have anyone in the QB room besides Buchner that has talent that will scare the teams ND wants to compete against.
