They just got one of the top recruits in the country Paige Bueckers and they have a to-be sophomore and junior who were the top recruits in the nation.

Did you not watch one game this year lmao? Only 1 of those 5 stars were in the top 30 out of high school. ESPNW has really bad rankings. Also, Nixon and Prohaska will still struggle mightly. Unless, Muffet gets 5th year transfers, this team will not make the tourney.

Nixon just entered the transfer portal. Muffet brought in two experienced, 5th year transfers in Destinee Walker and Marta Snierzek and has an incoming freshman guard in Anaya Peoples. The transfer game has really heated up. Stay tuned.

You were right half about this, as Walker is the leading scorer. The big problem is that they have no bigs ( a huge talent drop off from Turner/Shepard to Vaugh/Cosgrove) and are way too reliant on Frosh. Gilbert went 2-16 last night against W Va. Can't have that kind of inconsistency with no inside game.

 

Can't believe Muffet didn't get better transfers (Sniezek is way below ND standards) and not one post player transfer. She's got a good recruiting class coming in, but this looks like a 3 year rebuild before she can get back to the Final 4.

 

Edit: Looks like she's adapting (although too late) to the reality that transfers and early WNBA exits will happen. So, from now on she's always going to recruit to have the maximum number of scholarship players each year and will never be caught with too few players again. She needs to recruit a good balance of bigs and shooters each year. The one's that play will stay. The others will transfer. It's the only way to survive and stay on top year in and year out.
