I thought Finley was OK. Jack Rowe is no slouch, Finley ended up winning 16 of 28 (55%?) and got better as the game went on. Two things I'd like to see him stop doing is; 1. Rotating to his left when he loses the clamp, it creates fast break opportunities the other way and 2. Keep his feet. I counted 3 or 4 times he fell down with a shot at the ground ball toward the end of the game.

To me, the most glaring weakness is defending midfielders who can dodge. Near is an exceptional transition player, but his man to man skills are average and I don't love Koshansky, he's too tall and jerky to stick with smoother, more fluid players. I think they need to find a third defensive specialist at midfield who can better stick a dodger.

Side note: I like Paul Carcaterra, very good in the booth with McAneney, but if he calls Nick Ossello at "220lbs. bull" one more time, I'm muting the TV. Ossello is listed at 185 and while well built and physical, no way resembles a 220lbs. man.

If ND could win 50 percent a game, that should be plenty enough to be happy about.

It depends who its against. If they only win 50% vs. Marquette tonight, that's a problem. But I'd take 50% against Cuse or Denver, who have the two best faceoff men in the country, in a heartbeat.

First, I agree with Finley, he is starting to come on, and has done better as the game progresses, which is a good thing because he's learning tendencies.

I finally got to watch the ND/Marquette game on ESPN3. Notre Dame doubled them up 14-7! Marquette was ranked #15 with a #6 RPI so they aren't a total slouch!

Finley played well at X, which made a huge difference and O'sello and Doyle continued to excel on offense.

All in all, definitely not ND's best game but Corrigan subbed in A LOT too.

ND is off until the 18th so they'll be sitting at #1 for at least that long!

Another HUGE game for ND men's LAX team as the #1 Fightin' Irish host #2 unc.

It's getting closer to selection time and ND would really benefit from a 1 seed so this really is a big game.

Right now, unc is probably playing the best offense out there so hopefully Doss continues to play well in the cage. ND has been off for a while so it's possible they come out a little slow. Hopefully they continue to slide well, and all of the offensive talent comes to show unc how to play the game! Personally I'd like to see Kavanagh light it up to get in his scoring form as the season starts to wind down but he's been assisting great too though!

This should be a fun game. It's on at 4:00 on Saturday on espnu.

I'll have to DVR it myself as I'll be at a lacrosse tournament all day but I'll be pumped to come home and watch it. It will be interesting to see how their D holds up. I expect the game to be a little higher scoring all around.

Well, that was a crazy game and a finish. Then, again you knew this would happen.

Pigs are flying outside my window and hell is hitting 32 tonight - BrianKellyTheMan just expressed optimism.

In all seriousness, huge win to all but guarantee a 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA tournment, regardless of what happens in the ACC tournament. In my opinion, its huge this year to avoid the 3, 4 or 5 seed, as 1. Denver is likely to be the 4 and hosts a potential 4 vs. 5 second round game, and 2. I actually think Albany is going to wind up as the 6 seed, and I want no part of Lyle Thompson in the second round.

For those who don't follow the game or are just getting into it, be sure to watch any game Albany plays in. Their star, Lyle Thompson, is the best player I've ever seen. He's easy to spot, has a very long braided pony tail.

I don't know much about lacrosse, I played for 1 year in college. But I looked up Lyle Thompson and just laughed really hard. Not that it matters, but I find it funny that this guy...

Isn't Albany the team that's had a strong contingent of Native Americans playing for it?

A number of teams have Native Americans playing, but Albany has the most prolific with the Thompsons of 2014. If you watched last year, they were the attack line that hung up 15 on ND in the second round and nearly bounced ND from the NCAA tournament. Ty and Miles graduated last year and now play pro, Lyle is a senior and, as I mentioned earlier, is a superstar (pink Mohawk and all). He was the #1 pick in the pro-league draft, will easily win lacrosse's version of the Heisman for the second time, and simply pulls off moves that defy gravity/physics.

ACC Champs and #1 Notre Dame takes on Duke Friday evening at 5:30 in the first round of the ACC tourney. For the first time in a while, I really think ND is better than Duke right now, but Duke always catches fire around this time of the year and could be a tough win against them the second time around. If they win this game, and beat Army during their last game, they most definitely will be no lower than a 2 seed come tourney time, and quite possibly still the #1 seed, even if they do lose to cuse or unc for the acc championship game. Either way Duke as been a nemesis for the Irish so hopefully they take care of business!

Native Americans founded LAX, probably shocking some of you that I knew that.

I'm just waiting for the NBA's first Mayan player.

That is an obscure reference right there. The only way I knew about that was that my 3rd grader told me about it after they learned about the Mayans in school.

Sounds a little more violent the basketball.

No flopping in their games...
