I hadn't heard of the second increase, but otherwise this is correct (my boss is a Trustee). I would also add that the period of time from the second approach by A&M to Elko resigning was less than 24 hours. Aranda from LSU turned A&M down Wednesday morning when LSU gave him $2.5 mil a year. A&M called Elko immediately after to raise their offer to $2 mil a year. My boss is uncertain if Elko accepted on the spot or went back to ND again asking them to match, but I wouldn't be surprised (or upset) if ND said "shove it" after they already agreed to a huge raise.

If you had paid attention at all, you'd know A&M already offered Elko the job once, and he turned it down. They then went back after Aranda from LSU with a $2 million per year offer, and he parlayed it into an extension with LSU worth $2.5 million a year yesterday. They obviously came back to Elko with that $2 million per year offer last night or this morning, and he took it. But by all means, continue to be an ignorant slob.

See I disagree, I don't think he has a home, meaning a position, in the NFL. Too small to be a LB, too slow to be a safety. Maybe a career special team-er.

The job I worry about with regard to Elko is Tennessee. Clawson, Wake Forest's head coach, is a former Tenn offensive coordinator. If they strike out on Gruden (MNF), Chip Kelly (UCLA), Scott Frost (Nebraska) and Dan Mullen (Florida), which I think is likely, I'm concerned they could look at Clawson. If they do, not only do I worry about Clawson trying to poach Elko back, I also worry about Wake possibly offering him the head coaching job.

Big - any idea why they want so many LB's? Are they unhappy with the younger guys (Jam Jones, Jon Jones, Adams & White)?
