I think we have all been lied to as to the strength of our recruiting. I don’t understand why we aren’t getting the QBs that always seem to make it to a MAC school and become stars

The problem is the QB and lack of receivers and stud running backs. Everyone took Kyren for granted. He saved the QB so much last year. Also, our WR’s can’t get off routes. When we are hanging on to skilled positions for 5 years that tells me that we lack talent. The guys at BAma, OSU and Georgia leave for NFL bc the younger guys push them out. We don’t have that problem. Purdue moves the ball better with LBB talent.

I posted my thought on another thread but it’s time to make a change in the program. I think the coaches can pull it out but it’s pay for play. We need a QB who understands the ball has to be in the hands of the real athletes. I watched LSU last week. Kelly lost that because of special teams coaching and lack of discipline with his players. But the glaring and obvious difference between ND and LSU was the sheer number of guys with god given Talent on the LSU roster. It was noticeable. They’re everywhere. Now if Kelly can only harness it. ND has some good kids but they’re short 6 athletic players on offense and 4 on defense. Freeman looked like he was going to stroke out after that loss. He genuinely doesn’t know what to fix because in his mind the guys did what he asked them to do. This is going to get worse before it gets better. I just hope the team and coaches stick together and Jenkins and Jack do what it takes and I dont have confidence that they will.

There is going to be 2 leagues. The pay for play league aka SEC and B1G and everyone else. Granted a few ranked teams got waxed by fcs yesterday but ND was having trouble selling tickets already. Brian Kelly knew he was in for a shit show this year and the coaches we have may be great recruiters but they’re not magicians. Here’s the truth. It is going to take $25M in NIL money to win a title. We aren’t even paying top flight money for our coaches. There needs to be a philosophy change for the entire program or we are doomed to irrelevance once again. I love the helmets and the story but it’s over unless there’s a major change.
