  1. Totally there with you....sorry been awhile since I posted!! 20-month old twins born at 25-weeks will do that!! I was HOPING that they would get rid of BK and bring in PJ Fleck!!! Kinda pissed they didn't and now I am following the Gophers!! Trust me Fleck is going to be the next Urban Myer!!!
  2. I think it is Del Rio's as well...problem is they will have to wait till most likely February to announce and that can sometimes affect recruiting!!!
  3. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-nick-watkins-notre-dame-20131101,0,374918.story By Brian HamiltonTribune reporter 12:22 p.m. CDT, November 1, 2013 Notre Dame harvested fertile recruiting ground to bolster its defensive backfield. Nick Watkins, a four-star cornerback from Dallas, made an oral commitment Friday to play for the Irish, according to multiple online reports. The 6-foot-1, 189-pound Watkins is the No. 160 overall prospect in the country, according to Rivals.com, and the 17th commitment for Notre Dame in the senior class. Watkins reportedly had a long list of suitors that included Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, Stanford and USC, among others. "Education," Watkins told AggieYell.com about the pledge to Notre Dame. "I want to major in business and they have the No. 1 business school. Football, coach (Kerry) Cooks, coach (Bob) Diaco, all are great guys. I think I can take my talents up there and contribute and help win a national championship." Irish Illustrated, Irish Eyes, Blue and Gold Illustrated and Irish Sports Daily all reported Watkins' commitment. bchamilton@tribune.com Twitter @ChiTribHamilton
  4. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-notre-dame-everett-golson-brian-kelly-20131031,0,7423795.story By Brian HamiltonTribune reporter 9:07 p.m. CDT, October 31, 2013 Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly does not have total control over Everett Golson right now, due to the quarterback's semester-long exile from the school. But that may change soon. "From what I’m hearing," Kelly said Thursday after practice, "he is trying to make his way back here sometime in the next few weeks." Should Golson return to campus and be readmitted as expected after a suspension for academic reasons, he is eligible to practice with the Irish as soon as final exams are over -- and he will do so, Kelly said, even though Golson cannot participate in any athletic contests between semesters. "A lot of this is theoretical," Kelly said. "Let’s say he’s admitted back into school on Dec. 15. He would be eligible to practice. If that’s the case, then we would practice him, but he would not, of course, be eligible to compete. Provided of course he gets readmitted. I’m just answering the question as it relates to his eligibility." The readmission hurdle is a real technicality that no one seems too nervous about. Golson reconfirmed in an interview with Sports Illustrated published this week that he will return to Notre Dame, and Kelly said there would be no academic hold-ups as long as Golson fulfills his requirements in the spring. "He would be eligible in terms of academics when he gets back here and would be on track because of the one-time missed semester rule," Kelly said. "He would be eligible, provided he does all the normal 12 hours (of classes) and GPA and things of that nature in the spring." As for Golson speaking to Sports Illustrated and effectively conceding that he cheated on an exam to earn the suspension, Kelly more or less shrugged it off. "If he’s here on campus and he’s in our program and he’s under my charge, I’m really good at giving advice," Kelly said. "But he’s not in the program right now, so I’m not giving (advice). Those are his decisions that he is free to make." bchamilton@tribune.com Twitter @ChiTribHamilton
