I am picking ND over Stanford by 14 points.

 

There are so many reasons to select Stanford:

1. They are ranked 19 by Sagarin while ND is 46.

2. They have an SOS of 13th vs ND"s of 25th.

3. They are 1-0 against top 10 Sagarin-ranked teams and

2-3 vs top 30 teams while ND is 0-2 against top 30 teams,

not having played against any current ranked top 10 teams.

4. Stanford has the 3rd best rusher in the country while

our defense has shown it can't stop the rush.

5. Stanford is a 9-point favorite.

 

BUT, I think we beat them by 14 because this is CW's, JC's,

and GT's last game at ND. They all have a nasty taste in their mouth

because of losing and they are tired of being pushed around

and getting black eyes. This is their moment to let it all hang

out, torpedoes be damned, there is nothing to lose. It's brass

knuckle time - nobody to impress anymore - just go out and

get the job done. I look for them to be very impressive offensively

and they just will end up being too darned good to stop. Yes Stanford

will score some points but they won't be able to keep up with

our dominating offense.

The reality is, this is a team that consistently loses to ranked teams / teams with winning records. Heck, we haven't even gotten LUCKY and beaten somebody we shouldn't. I wish I could believe we are going to win this game but I expect another L.

I hope so but they will have to do it without Armando Allen. Broken bone in his hand and is having surgery to fix it.

They couldn't even beat UConn on senior day @ home. I'm sorry, but I see Stanford massacring ND like they did against USC.

Good points but i see a late charge by the irish and we win by 7 points , they will beat the stanford team . charlie still hasn't been fired yet.

Last week I picked UConn by 3 in OT. My head is enormous right now such that I can barely get through doorways and I'm starting to believe I'm ND (Nostre Damus) reincarnated.

I'm with ya, Rock AND I think it's a blessing that AA is OUT for the game. They will have to rely on Riddick or Gray or Hughes to carry the load and those boys can be A LOAD . . . meanwhile, JC and co can open up the passing attack . . . we held U$C rusher and others in check when we bring the "A" game, and they ceratinly will be motivated to bring an "A+" game to send Charlie and JC, Golden etc off in style.

I just put a huge bet down on Stanford... Armando broke 2 fingers over the weekend and is out for the game... add that to the distraction of CW's firing and the west coast travel, and you can book it... Stanford by 10
