  1. Saban's a god...but if he loses two National Championship games in a row, those idiot Alabama fans will question his employment. That will **** him off, and then he leaves for... ...dare I say it?
  2. It's frustrating seeing Nick Saban losing multiple stellar assistant coaches to head coaching jobs elsewhere, yet continues to produce an incredible product on the field. Kelly is a good coach, no question...but he's not at THAT level where the Sabans and the Meyers roam. You must get used to this as a ND fan. 10 win seasons are now the hopeful expectations...not Championships. I'm starting to get used to this realism.
  3. I think you're probably right, Doc. Look what Gurley has done in the NFL after that horrific knee injury at Georgia. Jaylon's injury didn't come close to that horror. I trust he'll be outstanding at the next level.
  4. Well boys, Clemson started like this. First 2 drives made ND look like a high school team, but wound up being a helluva game. We'll see.
  5. I heard an interesting analysis on Sirius XM College Sports. The hosts were very complementary of how Kelly managed the clock on that last drive, and then ripped him for the second time out taken when ND had just drove to the 2 and a first down. One of the hosts said, "Why the hell do you call a time out with 35 seconds left, two timeouts, after having just made a first down at the 2? He went on to say that Kelly should have bled the clock more. The two time outs guaranteed that ND still would have gotten at least three downs to get it in had he bled another 10 to 15 seconds off the clock. Stanford did have their time outs, but this would have forced Shaw's hand and he would need to use one of their time outs instead of having all three available on that last drive. It was an interesting analysis. I don't have an opinion either way, but thought it reasonable.
  6. ...and the other alternative to Kizer would have been?
  7. Typical Kelly. Take your foot off the throat when Baylor and other undefeateds are breathing down your neck. Only Kelly can make a win feel like a loss. And don't bet for a minute that the committee is going to watch this entire game. The score is now Unimpressive.
  8. Meyer and Saban are two who have the power to come in to ND and make Jack relinquish even more on recruiting restrictions. Meyer's already at his dream job. Saban, not so much. No, I don't believe Saban is in play, but that wasn't the question.
  9. Not a Kelly fan as to game management, but ND earned some respect with the exciting comeback given the pathetic start. I don't see ND falling far.
