After circling the lakes several times, I ran around campus, then returned to the bookstore and grabbed a gelato as a little reward. Afterward, moved my car to near the stadium (didn’t know if I could leave my car by the bookstore after they closed), and I finished my run. By now, it’s getting dark. So I decide to run by Cartier field and then by the Gug to see if I could find that balcony we discussed on the Recruiting Board. Saw it, but then I realized all the water I drank had not been converted to sweat, so I ran around the tennis courts to that bit of woods back there, and did what I had to do. Long story short, I came back through the Gug parking lott, and ran right by Longo. So I’m thinking whether or not that was him (which I confirmed this morning by looking at his roster photo), turn the corner, and then look up to get a better view of that Gug patio/balcony thingy above the main entrance (until then, I thought the west entrance was the main one), and I almost run into… Floyd. Seriously, almost ran into him. Would’ve said almost ran over him, but he’s a pretty big guy. He said “hey.” I said “hey.” Then, while continuing on my way, I yelled over my shoulder, “good luck this season, Michael.” He yelled back, “thank you.” Then I finished my run around the Quads (north, God, and south) took a water bottle bath, and had a Tilapia taco at the ND lounge. Man, those are good. So, there you have it: my inside scoop. Floyd is definitely a different guy.
