97domer 74
Georgia also picked up one of Alabama’s great recruiters (Travaris Robinson) and made him co-defensive coordinator. Kirby Smart earning his last name
AnTostal 762
I have never been a fan of TR as an OC. But, what an amazing coaching pedigree the guy will have. It just HAS to be worth a lot to have been an OC under Kelly, Saban, and Smart. Those guys absolutely know how to build winning programs. Good for Tommy. Good for the program that hires him as a head coach.
irishwavend 566
If Tommy was sole OC, I was going to look forward to seeing UGA fall out of the Top 5. Unfortunately, Kirby was smart enough to make up a position for him that didn’t include a step down to wb coach….

Instead he will be connected to another exceptional HC and program further enhancing/expanding his resume and acumen.
lazard 24
never thought I'd see the day Rees being labeled as a hot commodity. 1

What’s crazy about Deion is I feel he could be a good coach if he had just a touch of humility. But that’s not who he is and I’m sure he’ll never change, so he’s likely doomed. 😂

Colorado was in really bad shape so unfair to expect a one year miracle.
SpeedsterX 652
I'll say this. Let's see how Tommy does and see if he gets any years as a head coach. If, (and that's a huge if) he is successful, I personally wouldn't mind seeing him come back to ND in some fashion. Maybe Head Coach years from now? It'd be a nice connection. 1

Didn’t they go winless in the PAC-12 and finish the season 1-8 after starting 3-0. 😬
Synoptico 333
My thoughts on Rees is that he would be a very good NFL Coach. Where if a player doesnt perform, you cut them and get a new one. Developing players didnt seem like a strength vs playcalling.

The best thing he can do is learn and make inroads in the coaching fraternity. His time will come. Once he becomes a HC, he likely won't have the benefit of being surrounded by blue chippers at a blue blood program like ND, Bama, or Georgia. The value of developing recruits becomes so important, especially when it's your neck on the chopping block as the HC. Presuming he stays the college route.

Nick Saban was quoted as saying something to the effect that Tommy is one of the brightest guys he has come across. Now Tommy is hired by Kirby Smart, doubtless with a recommendation by Saban. BK wanted Tommy at LSU. ND wanted Tommy to stay at ND. Despite what our loyal fanbase thinks, Tommy seems very well regarded as an OC. I’ve just been watching the guy since he played at ND and I didn’t like his decision-making then either. It’s one of the many reasons I post things on a fan board and those guys earn millions coaching. They see things I don’t. Tommy Rees will be a good head coach somewhere soon. I just hope he hires a good OC.

They are more talented, but they have zero humility/leadership. If it doesn’t change, all that talent will go to waste.
