Hmm, you left out some parts from Oprah's statement. I never said all old white people. I said older white people. She was referencing apartheid. I wasn't claiming to have all answers, I just am tired of being lectured and instantly being called racist when i disagree, I am not a racist.

a) racist doesn't equal smart or not.

2) funny way of counting smarty pants.

And of course, you turn this on me. It is about how I feel, duh, but the content is about you. So whats next, a comment about my girl friend? You are the Sen Warren to my Joe Lieberman.

I have no idea what any of this post has to do about anything. But I think I have your point. All liberals are divisive, idiots, oh and you mentioned retards. Yet, you are not divisive and are just a "normal" person that has to deal with these so called smart liberals who are really "idiots". Okay, good talk we can end this discussion now, it will get nowhere. Maybe just you thinking of more names to call me, which really does nothing to me.

Weird....could swear the media blasted this as a botched mission based on no intel that gleaned nothing.

I don't doubt this but this ban seems incomplete. Are we really saying these airports are the only ones at risk of having someone sneak a bomb through?

If I was an Al Qaeda operative then Dubai or Doha, despite receptive forces within those countries, would not be my port of destination. This ban does handily deal a blow to ME airlines that were eating US airlines lunch at a funny enough time considering #MAGA is running amok.

Until this is brought onto every flight into the US I will have doubts over it's implementation. There are just as many nutters these days in Europe so why no ban there?

Because the intelligence gleaned from that mission likely identified security gaps on specific routes/airlines. It's not to say that their objectives and blueprints couldnt be executed from other airports or airlines...it's just not what AQAP was planning for....

I could easily see AQAP either having planted operatives on the screening staff at those places or taking advantage of lax screening procedures for connecting passengers. For instance, you originate in a small airport that does very little to screen you---Ive been to several of these kinds of airports. You connect thru particular airports that assume you've already been properly screened (Doha, Dubai) and voila....you're on a direct route to DC with a bomb in your laptop.

One time my flight into Dubai was delayed and when I landed, an airport official boarded the plane, escorted me off, took me down the stairway they use to check oversize carry-on bags, and ferried me directly to my connecting gate so that I wouldnt miss my hop into DC. Completely bypassed any security.

The reason this ban is unnecessary to implement within the U.S. is that our current TSA security screening is designed to snare the types of materials AQAP would be packing into these laptops. Cannot say the same for airports outside the U.S.

I'm glad Republicans won the election. However, I've tired of all negativity on TV and have quit watching. I deleted half of the crazy Trump bashers and half of the rest of the crazies from my Facebook. I'm disenchanted with government as a whole right now. Too much game playing and not enough getting done for the American people and soldiers coming home. Im tired of seeing my friends come back from the Middle East permanently injured for no apparent reason other than to kick some ***. I did disability exams on two guys last week. These dudes were high speed guys. No one will hire them because they think they'll snap and kill someone and it's sad because they're basically getting paid to stay away from the general population. They're good guys. They could work. High speed guys and idleness is like letting a teenage high school boy be idle. Not a good combination. Other than that, everyone is healthy at my house. I'm helping a lot of injured federal workers get the treatment they earned and I'm working a shitload of hours. PS I work on all of the guys and gals mentioned in this thread and there's a ton of stress on all of them right now. Be nice to people you see every day because you don't know what they're going through.

Dubai and Doha don't assume you have been screened. You do a full security screening again to transfer like you do anywhere else. I've been through a combination of both airports probably 100 times and never felt that security as lax or an issue. Now they are located in a hell hole of a location so they should never let their guard down.

I felt security in Paris was a strict as anywhere I've ever been yet there is a high probability that a bomb took down a recent flight leaving form there to Cairo. If you think laptop bombs are a risk then you should ban laptops on all flights

This is not a partisan issue btw. I just don't get it.

Richard Reid boarded his flight in Paris and the reason we can't have fluids now is because of UK plot to bring explosives on board flying toward North America. Banning this from these countries only is absurd and just shifts the focus onto all other direct flights and Europe. And we know that they all know that Europe has a problem right now with jihadi nutters...

This basically... Like the whole Russian thing is a joke. Numbers were run that said Russia is the boogeyman for Americans, so let's pound this narrative. It's so childish and annoying considering the hypocrisy that the people accusing Trump of this have the same, if not more, contacts. Let's get stuff done.

This post is a joke btw. Tell me what Bannon has done that you don't like. He believes in the rule of law and accountability - a stark contrast from the last administration that excused killing cops and law breakers coming from the southern borders. If you don't like the law, change it; but what's on the books must be enforced. It's called oath of office. Anyway, way back to Bannon, I disagree with him trying to strong arm the freedom caucus on healthcare, but otherwise, the guy has been very successful and believes in common sense measures. He's certainly better than that traitor Valerie Jarrett who filled the same role.

I agree with a lot of this. It doesn't make sense to me to only ban laptops on inbound flights from those airports. If some dude in Yemen can create bombs to fit onto laptops, why on earth do our government officials think that that technology and ability will remain in the Middle East and only be routed through certain airports? Not that this technology would only apply to Muslims, but that is the origin and the current focus, and there are about 2.6 million Muslims living in the UK, 4.7 million in France, and 3.3 million in the U.S.

Until laptops are banned on all flights everywhere, this doesn't really sit well with me. My guess would be that this laptop ban on these specific flights will eventually work its way to all laptops on all flights domestic and international, and then later to ipads and cellphones as technology changes.
