Prayer request for my wife

Recommended Posts

My far better than myself half(Vicky) is having issues with her kidneys. I convinced her to go to the ER Sunday and her creatinine levels are five times normal, which evidently means her kidneys are functioning at 20%.

60 YO, born and raised in Mishawaka, a lifelong Irish fan that pines for the days of Ara. She tried to indoctrinate me into Irish fandom before I even moved here from NJ to be with her fifteen years ago and I wouldn't be one if not for her. Any prayers will be much appreciated.

Thank you 97, DonJuan, Jfsc and OKC. She's been feeling better since late this afternoon so that's a plus(BP back up, heart rate down) but they're still working on nailing down what the issue is. She takes a lot of medications and they are revisiting what she's on because they believe some of them could be having an effect on the kidneys.

Thank you all again, God Bless you and yours.

Thank you Damsha and NJMD. I talked to her a couple of hours ago and she's just tired. I called some of her family Sunday night and inadvertently set off a chain reaction of phone calls to her room Monday. That, being under the weather and all the tests have her worn down. Right now it's just  that we don't hear the "D" word or worse.

Thanks again.

PS: I'll always be a "Jersey Guy" and still have plenty of family back in the Garden State, NDMJ.

Thank you Four Horsemen, Rocket and Jesse. Her creatinine levels were down yesterday and she was more herself yesterday evening. Very tired though, it has taken a lot out of her. The phlebotomist told her things are looking up so we're guardedly optimistic.

They've taken her off all of the old medications and are going to revisit them. I always wondered how she could have that many different chemicals working inside her without having some negative effect on some part of her system.

FWIW, she gives a thumbs up to the new(er) St. Joe hospital off Douglas Road in Mishawaka. She even likes the food and she can be something of a picky eater.

Thanks again to everyone for the prayers and support, it's truly appreciated. God Bless.

It looks as though she may be able to come home possibly tomorrow or Friday. Her creatinin levels are dropping back to normal as of this morning and they want them back to normal before they release her. They think it was a combination of dehydration and some of the thirteen prescriptions she was on.

Thank you all so much for the prayers, God Bless!

Thank you OKC, it's been quite a week. She basically dropped off a cliff over the weekend, Sunday night the doctor comes in a few hours after tests and announces her kidneys are functioning at 20%, Monday the "D" word is dropped...I don't pray as much as I should on a day to day basis but I've made up for lost time the last few days.

I forgot: When they moved her into her room Sunday night, she had a window looking out to the NW and one of the first things she said despite how she felt was "I can see the Dome from here". That's my Vicky.

Thank you again.
