  1. Coan definitely has more arm strength than Book. Book was good at a lot of things, his average arm strength held him back against elite defenses.
  2. Our RB talent since Adams has been a little lackluster.
  3. May be the first time in NFL history? I looked back about 15 seasons and didn't see any. LT Ronnie Stanley LG Quentin Nelson RG Zach Martin Well deserved, certainly can't hurt recruiting on the o-line front.
  4. You make that statement almost as if each event has a 50% chance of occurring, it's more like 95-5.
  5. This. I guess that's the perks of arm chair AD'ing. You can push for something to happen that may not make sense and if it doesn't work out you can second guess is several years down the road. Does Kelly have swagger? Not at all, I don't mind it either. There's no guarantee's when it comes to making a young innovative coach hire, for every Lincoln Riley you have 10 Lane Kiffin's, Steve Sarkasian's, Jon Embree's etc. It's a lot of work to build up any successful CFB program, it's even more work to do it at Notre Dame. It doesn't take much, like too many visits to the golf course, for the program to fall flat on it's face. We've consistently recruited better and better each year in certain areas that we've struggled with in the past. We have some difference makers coming in on offense, if we could do the same at corner we'd be in business to legitimately make a run. We aren't that far away. I have no interest in rolling the dice at this time. If we can't even remotely come up with a legit list of options to take Kelly's place, then we probably aren't having the proper conversation.
  6. 3 Crystal Balls all picking Henderson to ND as of the day of the visit. Assuming it went well.
  7. At the end of the day if ND wins on the field they are just fine.
  8. Jakailin Johnson was Jordan Johnson's teammate wasn't he? Is that going to give us a big leg up in his recruitment? Not sure how close they were.
  9. They did beat us head to head for Kyler Gordon last year.
  10. The unmentioned factor is the stadium environment. That's not an easy place to play at night on the road with the crowd going absolutely bananas.
  11. Alabama would have to convincingly lose the SEC Championship game to be left out. A close loss to Georgia and their resume is simply better than Michigan or OSU's resume. Michigan gets no value from the Big 10 this year. Michigan has no quality win to help them, other than the Big Ten Championship, which may not mean as much as it does most years.
  12. He's too lanky, as he gets in the weight room in a college program and builds up his leg strength that time will go up quite a bit.
  13. How you would you rate these 2 compared to Kmet and Wright?
  14. Does this effect things with Bauman at all? Or was he fully aware we'd be going after another high rated TE?
  15. Not to take anything away from Quinn and his efforts, but having 2 OL (Nelson/McGlinchey) drafted in the top 10 and then Zach Martin becoming the highest paid OG in NFL history makes for a great recruiting pitch to bring the big uglies to South Bend. That's exactly why Alabama recruits amazing front 7 players on defense, they've put a ton of talent in the NFL. When that happens, kids take notice.
  16. Not really a matter of not recruiting. We've lost many of those battles the last few years.
  17. Right, merely a question man. I wasn't stating you posted something inaccurate. I was just kind of shocked reading that when you always hear about how much of a play maker Keys is and he seems relatively fast on film. LVI always posts legit info/articles, him and Big are huge for DD. It's the link attached to the article about Keys announcing his commitment on the site is the only reason I asked heh. This article: http://goldendomerdaily.com/breaking-irish-land-dynamic-wide-receiver/ Link at bottom: http://www.hudl.com/profile/5227022/Lawrence-Keys-III
  18. The hudl link on the site, shows Lawrence Keys runs a 4.76? Surely that's inaccurate, says its from a Nike camp.
  19. RBs don't have the same value in the NFL that they used to. Unless you're a can't miss prospect you aren't picked early in the draft. There's tons of RB talent in the 2nd-4th rounds of the draft. Josh Adams I doubt is in the first 3 rounds, could be late 3rd, but I think he'll go in the 4th. ESB has the tools to where a team is definitely going to take a flyer on him. If he gets coached up well, he could be a great player. Brice Butler is a prime example of this, didn't do as expected in college but has had some fairly decent years as a pro in a back-up role.
