  1. He was 4th out of 5. But they also noted the 3 QBs on Team Icons had way better weapons at WR/TE than Team Legends and they felt that's a big part of why the 3 QBs on Team Legends were rated 1, 2 and 3.
  2. I posted this question to @Big23Head in the early signing period thread, but maybe it deserves its own post. Are there any 2022 WR recruits you see us going in on with the loss of Williams and Walker? Or is it grad-transfer or bust at this point at the WR position.
  3. CJ Williams didn't even mention Coach Freeman, but did mention Coach Kelly in his de-commitment post. I know that Coach Freeman didn't initially have anything to do with the offensive recruits. Not a slight at Coach Freeman by any stretch. I just think a defensive coach being hired, USC being close to home and the negative recruiting about our offense not really producing well at WR did it. I don't really factor in Freeman not being a part in his recruitment, because neither was Lincoln Riley as he wasn't recruited by OU.
  4. Greg McElroy? Josh Heupel? Chris Leak? Matt Mauck? Craig Krenzel?
  5. Just don't have a confident feeling in Moore or Williams, I think we will lose both to UF and USC respectively. No fault of Freeman's, I'm excited for the future of ND football. Moore is excited about that LSU DB coach going to UF and Williams has always been intrigued by USC, but wasn't recruited by Riley at OU. That can all change quickly.
  6. https://247sports.com/player/landon-jackson-46049327/ Local HS talent that was a redshirt freshmen at LSU Landon Jackson transferring out. His dad posted this on Facebook (know him, not stalking lol). Added an interesting tidbit basically saying Kelly isn't the right fit for LSU.
  7. New #LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly has very interesting clauses in his deal. If he wins a title, firing him would cause an automatic payout of 100% of his remaining salary (LSU has fired Les Miles and Ed Orgeron after winning titles). He gets 90% of it the remaining balance if he’s fired without cause. His base salary is 10 years/$95M BONUSES INCLUDE: $75K for the SEC Championship Game OR $150K for winning it $500K “Longevity bonus” annually $500K for being bowl eligible + $100K for a NY6 Bowl appearance OR $200K for a Playoff appearance OR $300K for a National Title appearance OR $500K for winning it all $50K for SEC Coach of the year + $75K for National Coach of the Year Additional academic achievement bonuses of $25K each He owes $2M to LSU if he leaves voluntarily Kelly also receives: -Two courtesy vehicles OR two vehicle allowances of $1,000 a month -Interest free home loan of 20% of the home price up to $1.2M -50 hours per year of private jet time on LSU’s jets Per Justin Time Sports
  8. Amazing hire and the right hire. Soon to be, current and former players were all campaigning for Freeman in a big way. If that doesn't show you how well regarded/respected the man is I don't know what to tell you. Assistant coaches/coordinators HIRED by Brian Kelly opted to stay in South Bend with Freeman versus a big pay day in Baton Rogue, what does that tell you? Taylor, Mickens, Elston, Rees, Balis, O'Leary, McNulty are all in for sure. I believe the only question marks are Quinn and Alexander at this juncture. Any other hire and this 2022 class would have fell apart and part of the 2023 class. Did you see the exchange between Freeman and Drue Tranquil that Drue shared recently? Dude is a class act and to me that shows his people skills are off the charts. Young, eager and wants to make his mark. Even though he's an OSU alum, I don't feel like he bleeds scarlet and silver like Fickell does. Stoked.
  9. Georgia had several key players sitting out for the Draft.
  10. I mean most punters in college can't consistently drop the ball inside the 5, that's an NFL-level skill. On top of that it's just the strategy on special teams in regards to punt returns these days, to eliminate big play returns. In 2005, 13.5% of punts were fair caught, last season 34.7% of punts were fair caught and it's maintained a steady incline since 2005. Through week 9 of this season only 27.5% of punts were returned, others fair caught/kicked out of bounds. Basically teams would rather have a 40ish yard punt with no return than a 50 yard punt that may get returned for 15-20 yards.
  11. It shows me when I highlight the text manually, versus switching from dark to light etc. Still an issue that should be resolved nonetheless.
  12. Tons of talent. Whoever is grilling better be wearing them white New Balance's.
  13. Great start to defensive recruiting for the 2023 class. What corner wouldn't want to play behind two book-end DEs? Let's keep it going.
  14. Craig moves extremely well, in the film I saw from one of the camps he was at. Very quick out of his stance and moves well in space. I think he has exactly what you want from an athleticism standpoint for an interior linemen.
  15. And? Of all positions to question, OL probably isn't one I'd question the staff on. We seem to have been doing fairly well up front over the last several years. OSU had a huge o-line class in 2020 with most redshirting too, they won't be taking as much as we are this year.
  16. It's still way too early man. Everyone was prematurely bashing Amorion Walker as well. Walker has since received offers from LSU, Alabama and Michigan. Evaluations as a whole are off this recruiting cycle and the last one. Recruiting sites are still playing catch up. The staff has been extremely diligent in finding players early in the cycle and haven't worried about what the star ranking is on the players they want. Trust the coaches, they didn't offer based off film. They offered based off camp, that tells me all I need to know.

  18. Exactly. COVID made the last 2 recruiting cycles a bit weird/off. Have to trust the staff through this process. His film looks good, I'll take a tall WR who can run any day of the week. Now that some other major players have offered, hopefully that'll put the troll comments to rest. I think he projects higher than Corey Robinson.
  19. A lot of boom and bust with those 23 commits, some never taking a snap at ND. I think NBA super-team culture has a huge impression on the state of CFB recruiting right now. Clemson, Alabama, OSU, Georgia and LSU have been consistently recruiting on an almost unprecedented level. All 5 finished top 5 in 2020 and 2021. 3 of the 5 finished top 5 in 2019 with the 2 missing Clemson at 10th and OSU at 14th. 2006-08 only two teams finished in the top 5 all 3 years and that was USC and Florida. Notre Dame finished in the top 5 twice and no other team did more than once. Talent is wanting to go with talent currently and teams at the top are stacking on talent like never before. Hence Alabama recruiting, rating wise, the best class ever this year.
  20. Coan? Buchner? Pyne? I'm curious on what your thoughts/predictions are.
