  1. How was Notre Dame able to keep his weirdness under wraps? He is such an embarrassment to ND but damn I wouldn’t be able to handle this as an LSU fan.
  2. I am Gary and I am from Hebron, In. Now live in Tampa. Been an Irish fan since mid 70’s. I live and die with Saturdays in the fall. I kind of went off the deep end last year when we got handed our butt by Alabama again. My wife and I are celebrating our 30th next summer and we are going back to Europe as long as the damn virus lets us. I have been to 5 games, none of them a big game but a lot of fun. Latest was against and at Stanford. I have for the most part been a lurker, but really appreciate the banter, Faiths drawings and most of all Big’s recruiting updates and insights. I graduated from an engineering school but sent my daughter to Saint Mary’s. I really appreciate the site.
  3. Maybe tell us a little more about what you want to do on this family vacation. Like what kind of food would you want to eat? What activities are you looking forward? Do you all have your passports up to date? All inclusive or not? Is this a once in a lifetime vacation? Have you considered Italy or maybe Spain? Maybe something unique, the trees in CA are certainly special.
  4. I know it isn’t the right fit for ND in every aspect except one. We should join the SEC and become a world beater recruiting machine. We would get more top regional recruits and more top national recruits. The Sec competition would be tough . But once we improved our talent again, what a year full of great games to watch. Pipe dream I know.
  5. Kelly needs to fire Reese and get a known offensive guru and recruiter. Just like defense.
  6. I saw a talking head say he thinks. Norte Dame and USC would join the Big Ten. Don’t see it myself. I don’t see this as a good thing for either Texas or Oklahoma. They would be less likely to make a 12 team playoff.
  7. I like it. All is good for me. Thank you very much.
  8. The night I gave up on my Irish and became a Bama fan. Can’t take this crap anymore. I will be able to have enjoyable Saturday evenings, be able to say Roll Tide, and have faith that my team will win. I used to accept the losses cause I knew when we finally win, it will be magical like the Cubs and Bears. I would rather be a fan of a team like the bulls of the 90’s and Black Hawks. Screw this fn team.
  9. I know why we are allowing only a small crowd at the game and I think home games are now a huge advantage for ND. Clemson didn't have any size to their fans in attendance which normally at a ND game, there are plenty of tickets to allow the opposing team to take away the home field advantage. Kelly says that the team really felt the energy of the crowd and the band. Anyone know how many Clemson fans attended? I know we saw some parents on TV, but I never heard cheers for them.
  10. This thread shows no interest in this game. We played very good today. Will we win next week w/o TL?
  11. Thing is, I never heard Nancy, Obama, Shumer or any of the damn Dem Senators ever apologize to anyone anywhere. And barely the fake news, maybe a retraction here or there buried somewhere. I would say Hawaii you just spat in the wind for nothing. Please just stay the upbeat guy talking about what could be for this season for our Irish.
  12. I am working from home, so is my wife and my 2 daughters are back from college trying to do their studies online. We ran out of office space here. I am able to do my job from my lanai , but I don't get to meet face to face with my boss or my mentors or mentor the younger folks. We are falling behind professionally not being in the mix. I am an at risk person, and I don't want to come in contact with the virus either. But I can't wait to get tested to see if I may have had it. At one time I did have a slight fever, sore throat and a headache for 3 days while quarantined . If I had it and recovered, i would be back at work as soon as the state and my company says I can. But I doubt that I did. I am diabetic and probably would have been sicker than sh!t or died. My wife and I do provide some care for her mother, she has stage 4 esophageal cancer and going through Chemo. I can't afford to catch anything let alone a damn virus. So its quarantine city for me.
  13. One thing that most don't think about in this discussion. They say we are flattening the curve. What does that really mean? It means we are saving people because the hospitals can handle the load of sick. If we didn't flatten the curve more would die sooner, our front line fighters would die. So staying the course at this point is good. The CDC wants these guidelines in place to stay going forward, but eventually the virus will make itself known to every town in every county in each state and every country in the world. Most will actually get the virus. So the self quarantine should be in place for 6 months in many places. This buys time to prove out and manufacture mass quantities of therapeutics and get closer to a vaccine. However, a 3 month or a six month shutdown will kill way more than the virus, most businesses will fail and leave behind unemployed people, who used to work for great companies and now are broke financially and mentally. So at some point soon, we will have to open things back up, do everything we can to get the the vulnerable to the time of a vaccine and try to tip the scale to the side of saving the most lives. There is no 100% right answer. We don't have a template to follow for a country of our size and there isn't a template for us to follow when the 2nd round comes. I pray for the President, his teams, the Governors, that they make the right decisions and of course all of the people who are truly affected.
  14. I am not sure who should come to ND, Kelly's reign should be over. However, its a perfect time for a big time coach to come in, the shelves are pretty stocked, the next 2 classes are looking pretty good. The program has moved forward, the campus has added facilities. I think a new head coach with new excitement and an elevation in performance could very well start steamrolling to a championship.
