December 18, 20231 yr Gino gets the OC nod or bring in an experienced OC? Grab the Duke OC, may help with Riley?
December 18, 20231 yr I wonder if coaching at Troy is that great of a gig from ND OC. In other words, was Parker pressured to move on.
December 18, 20231 yr Great for him. Really. I hope he does great at Troy. I also hope ND brings in an experienced, creative OC.
December 18, 20231 yr Woah wasn’t expecting that one. Gotta say, I agree with you here it sounds like an “I’m not going to fire you but you should find another opportunity” type moves. Need to absolutely nail this hire 12 minutes ago, brian_nd88 said: I wonder if coaching at Troy is that great of a gig from ND OC. In other words, was Parker pressured to move on.
December 18, 20231 yr Author I don't think Parker was forced out. He isn't a top level target for P5 so Troy makes sense. He also has prior coaching/playing connections with Troy. Good for him and good luck. Sounds like Denbrock may be a target.

Denbrock would certainly be a great hire, but didn’t he just sign a big extension with lsu?

December 18, 20231 yr I just saw all this news, so definitely surprised as well! But hey, I wish him luck! For Notre Dame, nail this next hire for OC!!

December 18, 20231 yr Denbrock, he knows the landscape having been here for two stints and is closer to his roots/family perhaps. Has experience. Not the hire I would look for. For me I'm looking to get away from the Kelly tree and his offense. I get LSU was really good on O this season and their QB made huge strides from his ASU days. Obviously just a name at this point anyhow...

December 18, 20231 yr @tneun89 and i discussed this happening in the one thread! This is the equivalent of Charlie Molnar to UMASS. Looks like anyone who didn't want Parker in year 2 got their wish.

December 18, 20231 yr Might not be about money for Parker since Troy was paying their old coach $1M https://www.wsfa.com/2023/10/04/sumrall-highest-paid-coach-troys-history/ Based on market rates, Parker should have been making more than that as the Irish OC.

Its not its Parker seeing the pressure and opting for 3 years gauraunteed. Instead of 1 year of intense scrutiny.
