Yes Mills will most likely move inside like he did in bowl game. That’s the concern…if we want to win a NC we are going to have to beat a Georgia, Alabama.

We have a lot of young guys with size, but who are complete unknowns:

 

Jason Onye- 6'4.5, 285 lbs

Alex Ehrenberger- 6'7, 270 lbs

Aidan Gobaira- 6'5, 240 lbs

Tyson Ford- 6'4, 275 lbs

 

We have a solid rotation of Mills, Rubio, Cross and Keanaaina in the middle. Hinish might get reps as well. If I had to pick two guys from the group above, it would be One or Ehrensberger in the middle. Gobaira is too small and Ford just has too much potential as a pass rusher on the outside.

As you see they worked on a 2 up 2 down at the bowl game I see Baptiste filling right in for Justin on that near edge.

RB - Estime/Diggs 1A/1B

WR - Assuming 3 - Thomas, Merriweather, K. Smith

TE - Evans

OL - Alt, Kristofic, Correll, Schrauth, Fisher

DL - Baptiste, Mills, Rubio, Botelho

LB - Assuming 2 - Sneed, Kollie (I'm giving these 2 the first shot till they prove they can't handle it.)

CB + NB - Hart, Morrison, Harper

S - Watts, Henderson(would split practice reps between Henderson & Lewis)

Being our leading tackler Bertrand will play at LB I know its not popular but he had so many more tackles than everyone else.

Absolutely. Wasn’t he the leading tackler for ND the past two seasons?  No way he isn’t starting. Just a fact.

From a first glance the only changes I can see is Cross starting over Rubio. LB’s will be the same as last year. You would have three returning seniors. Those other guys will get more playing time this year. But I can’t see both starting. Maybe one. Not two.

Bertrand was the leading tackler and I think the other guys can be better.  Or, at least I would give them 1st team reps in practice to find out.

I would sub in Cross for Rubio on passing downs.
