The NIL Thread

Message added by NYGoldenDomer,

We are merging NIL threads into one topic.  There is no need for 10-12 different threads on the same topic.  If you come up with something Notre Dame NIL related please feel free to make a new thread for that.  Please note it in your thread title.  All of these vague thread titles are getting very old now.

Wow. So you could potentially get above the 85 limit by giving enough NIL money to pay for school and then some. Seems like a glaring omission to me but ok.

It's already happening. I think a booster is paying every walk-on player's tuition at BYU.

The good human in me wants to look at this as an incredibly benevolent act of kindness and rejoice. The pragmatist in me sees this as a new way for Alabama to have 125 scholarship players.

Another zombie thread back from the dead:

Maybe all BS but apparently BC player and Utah player both offered NIL money to transfer. I’ve got 50 bucks who wants to go in with me on an NIL to get Bryce Young to transfer to ND?

Well he probably is 5’11 to 6 foot. So he fits the right mild to be a qb here.

I hear that P. Bowen has been offered a $2 mil NIL deal.  Not sure if that is OU or another school.

First, I would think the newly appointed NCAA president is going to have the NIL situation at the top of his priority list and changes might be coming.

If it stays the same, I don't even think I want ND offering up huge NIL deals before the recruit even puts on the uniform.  It seems that the recruits that put NIL ahead of other factors are entering in the transfer portal more so than others.  For the dudes that value $ more than anything else, there's nothing stopping them from putting themselves out there for the highest bidder after every season.  Unless there are family financial problems that warrant that, I don't want those types of guys on the ND team.
