The difference here was, this wasn't some coaching staff neg recruiting the kid. For whatever reasons, he started to get a bad feeling about us on his official visit, and he lost trust of the staff on his own. I don't think any kind of pseudo-recruiting transitive/deductive thinking will apply to this kid. Lynch was Lynch, Tuitt was Tuitt, and Hayes was Hayes. We lost this kid all on our own, and this was one of our biggest stumpers and recruiters. Only way we get him back is if his parents pushed him all the way to South Bend, and I don't know of anything that would suggest his parents would do so.

no.........

And another no. Hayes was tight with Fred Jackson. On his campus visit, he met with Brandon, who assured him that Fred would stay on even if RR was canned. That's when Hayes switched from ND to UM.

And sure enough, RR was canned, Fred J stayed on with Hoke, and.... Hayes stayed.... shocker.

So another no. The only way he would leave is if Fred was canned, which isn't happening this year.

There's a reason we offered McDaniel in his wake, and have continued making runs at Amir Carlisle instead of Hayes. If they haven't made continued runs at the kid, there's a reason for it, and its not for lacking hustle. We certainly didn't give up with Lynch or Tuitt, so it isn't that he decommitted... its the way it all went down. This ship has sailed. Our staff is outstanding, but even I don't think we could charm a kid out of concerns about how long our staff will be together and whether the kid received enough love on his OV. He went from loving us to hating us - his mind is made up, and this is a kid who stuck through a head coach being fired at Michigan.
