  1. Staff was high on this kid, but I do hope they continue to go after Blair as a 3rd safety.
  2. Not Big, but he is very raw and has all the physical tools to be dominant, he just needs to learn the game more as he has not played football all his life like many others have. Some see him similar to Bryce Young in that he could take off his senior year with another year of learning the game and techniques. The great news is that the raw version of Burgess is seen as much better than the raw version of Young (Young jumped up the rankings his senior year)
  3. Michigan is making excuses on how "he isnt a take at this point" OSU boards have been kind of quiet on the subject Definitely no insider info here, but I am leaning to a happy day tomorrow for Irish fans.
  4. Agreed, not the best video, but it does seem like everyone is raving about KVA
  5. Very good analysis. I think he did much better with his blitzes this year. I felt like last year he brought blitzes just to bring a bunch of extra guys, but the blitzes this year were more intentional/planned and the players were timing their blitzes much better. There were no crazy last safety blitzes like last year. lol
  6. The dude is 391lbs? holy cow. He is bigger than Young for sure, but not by as much as you would think.
  7. Rees play calling was terrible at the end and Milroe is not a very good QB in my opinion.
  8. Wisconsin's Oline failed them at the end of that game sadly...
  9. 6th year senior CB. Doesn't really excite me to be honest...
  10. I doubt it, they never really went after him last year and as jessemoore97 mentioned, his academic credits probably would not be accepted now that he is a sophomore.
  11. They matter only in that they could effect next year's pre-season poll. Which sadly does matter in a lot of ways; I think we all agree that the pre-season poll SHOULDNT matter, but it does matter when teams start losing to each other and it could greatly effect who comes in as the last few teams to make the playoffs.
  12. I do agree that Arm strength is often times an overrated measure of a QBs worth. It definitely can help as it allows the QB to make more throws and expands the field for the defense to have to cover. However, there have been a lot of QBs in college that come in with big arms, but cannot read a defense, has little accuracy, and forces throws that they should not.
  13. I think it is fine to change the polls at the end of the year, HOWEVER, opt outs should strongly be factored in to the equation. Example: Penn State should not jump ahead of Ohio State even if they win their bowl game. It is definitely a tough thing to subjectively measure, but I think there are instances were you can justify it. I see Notre Dame only moving up one spot right now, probably ahead of Oklahoma, maybe 2 spots if LSU loses. I do not see them jumping the loser of Penn State/Ole Miss (Although I think ND is better than both of those teams). One poll may have ND ahead of Arizona, but not the one that matters probably.
  14. That is kind of how I see it playing out as well. It is not what I want to happen, but in today's CFB landscape, I see it playing out: 2024: Leonard starts, Angeli stays and is the backup, Minchey transfers, and Carr redshirts 2025: Angeli transfers, Carr starts, and Knight redshirts Obviously, as you can see, this will quickly lead to an issue with possibly (likely) only having 2 scholarship QBs for 2025. The other likely scenario is Angeli/Minchey switch. We havent see much of Minchey, so there is a chance that Minchey could beat out Carr in 2025. ND will almost have to go to the portal, 2026 could get really scary if Knight does not want to wait around another year behind Carr.
  15. Oregon St's defense was largely intact, especially in that front 7; their offense is what was decimated by the transfer portal. Angeli playing the way he did today was pretty impressive and shouldn't be dismissed by saying he played against the 2nd/3rd stringers. I think they will have a competition much like Hartman and Buchner did this year, but I think Leonard will easily win that QB battle, However, with his play style, I would really like Angeli to stay because I would have confidence in him if Leonard got hurt to win the games on the schedule (playoffs would be a different story). I hope Minchey is developing the same way Angeli has because I highly doubt both of them are here come August 2024.
  16. The dude played well in the bowl game today, but he was very inconsistent throughout the season. He has a lot of raw talent, but just cant seem to put it all together game-to-game. Hopefully this ignites his drive because he knows he can be a DUDE.
  17. Humes does has a visit scheduled with ND, but I just do not see ND landing him... As for the class... QB: (A) - Carr is an absolute stud, like others have said, his floor is high and his ceiling is being a championship level QB... A+ is only reserved the generational players like Lawrence RB: (A) - I think Young is almost a clone of Estime (big bodied RB that will just run over people) and Aneyas has a lot of similarity with Kyren. These two really are almost identical to Estime/Kyren in so many ways. I am higher on Young than I am Aneyas. I do not see either of them getting much PT in 2024 simply because they wont be needed. WR: (A-) - You have the true 5* talent in Cam Williams that could probably play as a freshmen in limited roles until he refines his game. Gilbert is college ready now and has a high floor, I do not think his ceiling is super high, but his bust potential is extremely low as well. Saldate has speed but he will need some work, if he can perfect his route running abilities, he could be a TJ Jones type of receiver in my opinion, but Jones took awhile to break out from what I remember as well. TE: (B-) - They wanted 2 and only got one, while I think Larsen is a solid TE, I do not see him being the #1 TE on ND at any point in his career, OL: (B+) - I'll be honest, I am not a good evaluator of OL in general, and especially at the HS level where most of these kids are just bigger than their opponent, so I'll have to echo what others have said who know more than me. Lambert is a stud Tackle prospect. Prescod reminds me a lot of Baker, he has potential, but can he reach it? Jones seems to have moved up and impressed people his senior year, I think he could be a solid interior player. Knapp is a player that will struggle to ever see the field outside of garbage time in my opinion. Offensive Grade - (A-) - They have some elite prospects at multiple positions, I think they failed to hit a homerun at TE while OL will depend on how a couple guys develop. ------------------ DL: (A-) - Bryce Young is a stud and even though he got a lot of love during his senior year, I still think he is underrated; the kid has all of the potential in the world to be a high draft pick caliber player. I think Sevillano will be a stout interior player for multiple years much like Cross is now. Mullins is kind of a mystery to me since he got hurt, but many who follow ND recruiting thought he would be the best out of all of the DL commits; he just never really got a chance to prove it. I think Thomas is a boom or bust type of player, he reminds me of Gobaira. LB: (A-) - KVA is a bonafide stud at ILB (almost as touted as Manti Teo), him alone elevates the grade for this position. While not loved by the services, Kahoun was throwing up video game numbers against quality competition; while not a star, I see him as a multi-year contributor and eventual starter. Rezac is an interesting case and he has plenty of potential being an amazing athlete, he is kind of a tweener right now, but the kid reminds me of Drue Tranquill for a variety of reasons. CB: (B+) - Neither Hobbs or Moore are true studs right now, so there is some projection with them, but these two both have the skillset, mindset, and even stats to back up their confidence. I am high on them both and think Moore could end up being like Cam Hart. I wont give this group an A simply because it is a lot of projection, but the staff went after these two hard and it seems they got who they wanted here. S: (B) - They got the numbers, they got athletes, and they even got variety of skillsets, but all 3 are projects. Johnson is the one with the most potential by far, but he is still raw. Urlacher is the hard hitting downhill safety but can his coverage skills be elite P5 level? While Bennie-Powell is probably the most raw at his position in the entire class. Defensive Grade (A-) - They have a couple studs in KVA and Young, they have others that many are super high on (Kahoun, the CBs, Sean, Mullins). The safety position got the numbers they wanted, but will need some time to develop. ------------------- Overall Class (A-) - A great balance throughout the class with studs scattered throughout it. I believe the TE and Safety positions kept this class from getting a solid A...
  18. I think ND is the leader at the moment, but it is close, the staff will need to close on him. Will definitely be on the edge of my seat when he announces.
  19. yup, he cannot play in the bowl game, but he is allowed to practice due to some vagueness in the rules for bowl practices... I have yet to hear/see what the exact rule is regarding that, because I was pretty confused by it too. Carr was practicing with the team before he even signed his NLI.
  20. I really like Harper in the nickel position, he will be missed in the bowl game. I hope Clark can come in and play to the same level as Harper in the nickel position.
  21. I also expect a truly boring Early Signing Period... Which, in my opinion, is the best thing ND fans can hope for at this point.
  22. That has to be the reason and I think U$C is the prime example of why some ND fans are hesitant in taking a QB transfer this year. While I am ok with it, I think next year, you HAVE to let Carr and Minchey battle it out. It will be interesting to see how QBs play the recruiting game in the next couple years with all of the top schools preferring to get a proven talent at the college level. 5* QBs can be busts (ND knows that better than anyone else)
  23. I agree and I personally think it was a mistake to move him to Vyper. Tuihalamaka made some good plays at MIKE in his limited time as a freshmen, really wish he would have stayed there.
