  1. Rocket - no kidding. I felt immediate guilt for not having him as my #1 choice. It’s amazing to see how much those players are behind them. It’s amazing to see how much those players are behind them.
  2. (Edit: rattlesnake, it looks like you posted this minutes before me. If you want some more laughs, read the comments in the link that I posted. ) It seems like every news article I read as blast in Kelly. But that might just be the algorithm knowing I am pissed at him when I was listening to his press conference and his announcement in front of the players, I swear he was faking a southern accent. I miss one, it gets pretty bad and the comments are pretty funny! https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/brian-kelly-southern-accent-lsu-twitter-reacts
  3. I still keep doing a double-take anytime I see "LSU Head Coach" or the LSU pin on his lapel.
  4. I have no idea how legit this website is, but… https://www.essentiallysports.com/nfl-news-rumours-arizona-cardinals-kliff-kingsbury-to-replace-brain-kelly-as-the-head-coach-of-notre-dame-fighting-irish-kliff-kingsbury-arizona-cardinals/
  5. Here's the recap of Jack's press conference. During the press conference, Jack stated... - Jack stating that Brian never once told him he was even speaking with other schools and never gave him a chance to save him / match his offer. The first conversation Brian had with Jack was last night. - that they will take their time in their coaching search. He understands the importance of recruiting, the timing of the transfer portal, etc. but it is more important to go through the process and ensure they get the right candidate. (He said this multiple times) - they will not let Kelly coach if we go to the playoffs or in a bowl. "Brian will not be a part of that" - their current coaches will do great in our bowl game. They will do the coaching and he will let them decide "who gets to do the things they will be missing such as picking the coin flip" (jab!) - 12 years is a long time to coach at Notre Dame and we were well served by Brian for 12 years. He expected that it was coming to an end soon - "ND is perfectly prepared to move forward" - In regards to facilities, he is proud of the major investments they've made. He expects continued investment and, at some point, he expects to expand the footprint of the football building - Brian Kelly never had any requests for changes or updates to facilities. He's always given Brian anything he's asked for in terms of personnel. - "after a little resistance", Brian came to appreciate the unique aspects of ND such as admissions, etc. - brian told the team today it was "just about a new opportunity and his family to do something new". There was no sense that Brian couldn't feel they could take the next step here (at ND) - Jack will wait until after the new year if that is the right candidate. All that matters is the right candidate, even if it's after the bowl season - he could sense restlessness with Brian. Brian had a Freudian slip or two along the way. Jack would have tried to save him, but Brian never had a conversation about it. Jack would not have resisted about having a conversation with Brian to keep him happy. This must have been a decision by him and his family. - Brian is already on his way to LSU right now. He will be introduced tomorrow as the LSU head coach.

  7. Jack in his press conference right now: https://www.abc57.com/news/live-notre-dame-officials-hold-press-conference-amid-coach-brian-kellys-departure Jack stating that Brian never once told him he was even speaking with other schools and never gave him a chance to save him / match his offer. 8. I will refrain from my initial reaction and won’t share the content I sent to my brother-in-law because it will probably get me arrested if I post it on a public forum. Notre Dame stuck by Brian Kelly after a 4-8 season, when every sport pundit was calling for his firing Notre Dame stuck by Brian Kelly after Brian Declan, when every sport pundit was calling for his firing Notre Dame stuck by Brian Kelly when he turned into Bobby Knight 2.0 during his earlier years, when every sport pundit was calling for his firing Brian Kelly decided not to stick by Notre Dame. My words say “good luck” to Brian, but I don’t really mean that… There is a small chance of hope that this is a steppingstone towards greater things for Notre Dame. I will admit that I was enjoying the comfort of 10-win seasons with little hope for a national championship. I hope hindsight on today is generous to Notre Dame! If anything, I finally found a team to root against when they play Alabama. 🙂
  9. Love the new format! Way better on mobile. If it doesn’t require me to re-sign in every time, I’ll certainly be more active thanks!
  10. Never thought about Keenan being the dorky dorm, but I'll take it. Being the cool kid never really works out that well anyway... Keenan Review, Keenan Bun Run, Dismas House volunteering, etc. Keenan / Zahm rivalry was so much fun - lots of great pranks, snowball fights, etc. Zahm was a dorm that always stood out. I remember when they went through a renovation when I was in school there in the 90's and they had a party where everyone pretty much destroyed the place They also used to have a hell to heaven party (or something like that) where you'd start on floor 1 and once you finished the drinks on that floor, you'd go up to the next floor until you got to the top floor.
  11. Zahm Sucks!!! Love, Your friends from Keenan
  12. Florida has 9 starters opting out. I get it... but I hate opt-outs. It’s like the opposite of what amateur sports stands for. To be clear - I’d do the same, but it’s going to eventually ruin bowl games. Or force them to go to 8+ playoff format
  13. 2 worsts... 1) Loss to Boston College in '93. Was my freshman year. 2) Bush push game. Was the first game that I got my wife to really get into a game. She was yelling and screaming at the TV with me throughout the game. For a week later, I had a pit in my stomach and felt like crap. But, the Bush-Push game was a good turning point for me. I realized that I was taking it way too seriously. I took a different attitude of allowing myself to intensely get into a game, during the game. But, when the game was over, I must be able to move on with a smile on my face. Sports are supposed to be fun.
  14. Since changing the rules to serve your needs is the norm, the ACC should just cancel the championship game to guarantee they get 2 teams into the playoffs
  15. The way I read it is that it will come down to #5 if Miami and ND both lose to Clemson as their only loss. 5. The tied team with the higher ranking by the Team Rating Score metric provided by SportSource Analytics following the conclusion of regular season games. I’ve looked around and can’t find the actual ACC rankings from that tool.
  16. Here are the tiebreaker rules Two-Team Tie 1. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams. 2. Head-to-head competition versus the team with the best overall win percentage and proceeding though the conference. Multiple ties within the conference will be broken from first to last using the league’s tiebreaker policies. 3. Overall win percentage versus all common conference opponents. 4. Win percentage versus common conference opponents based upon their order of finish (overall conference win percentage) and proceeding through other common conference opponents based upon their conference order of finish. 5. The tied team with the higher ranking by the Team Rating Score metric provided by SportSource Analytics following the conclusion of regular season games. 6. The representative shall be chosen by a draw as administered by the Commissioner or Commissioner’s designee. Three-Team (or More) Tie Three-team (or more) tiebreaker procedure will be used to break all ties to identify the Championship game representative. Once a team is eliminated from the tie, the tiebreaker procedures restart for the remaining teams. If the three-team (or more) tie can be reduced to two teams, the two-team tiebreaker format will then be applied). 1. Combined head-to-head win percentage among the tied teams. 2. Head-to-head competition versus the team within the conference with the best overall conference win percentage and proceeding through the conference. Multiple ties within the conference will be broken first to last, using the league’s tiebreaker policies. 3. Combined win percentage versus all common conference opponents. 4. The tied team with the higher ranking by the Team Rating Score metric provided by SportSource Analytics following the conclusion of regular season games. 6. The representative shall be chosen by a draw as administered by the Commissioner or Commissioner’s designee. Note: Conference games against otherwise postseason ineligible teams will always be counted in the league standings and in application of the tie breaker policies.
  17. May I have your attention please... My first game as a student, I couldn’t figure out why a hush went over the crowd! ... Remember, if you have one more for the road, you may end up with a cop as your chaser!
  18. Thanks TexasDomer - this are my sentiments as well as the reasoning behind much of the caution. If we put all of college football into a bubble, I might understand the other's arguments. But, these players are certainly exposed to students with underlying conditions as well as faculty, people in South Bend, and those they come across while traveling.
  19. I assume that the players who are out due to Covid will not be playing next week?
  20. Fun info - thanks for sharing. Some of those names were temporarily forgotten by me
  21. Common sense would tell you that, but not everyone uses common sense. A local hot-dog stand opened up over the weekend here in Michigan and they had a line with over 100 people who were all standing on top of each other. They opened once in March and shut down the next day because of the lines and inability to get their customers to follow the rules. 2 months later, same outcome. They also continue to shut down hiking trails and public beaches here in Michigan because people can't follow the simple rules. My guess is that the stadiums will have no issues getting people to attend. The issue is going to be how to keep the fans (who have had a few beers) to follow the rules.
  22. Regardless of the record, this was (hopefully is) going to be one of the best away schedules ever - Coliseum, Mercedes Benz, Heinz Field, Lambeau Field, Bank of America stadium, and Dublin. Just WOW!
  23. It's great to see the Dolphins proactively sharing some ideas and plans to reopen the season. Kind of interesting (and expected) that they feel they can have less than 1/4 of the # of fans usually attending. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29131481/dolphins-reveal-plans-host-fans-stadium Hard Rock Stadium can hold approximately 65,000 fans for a football game, but the Dolphins said they might be down to 15,000 fans for the next season as they adjust to a different setup.
