  1. Here’s the way I see it. If it is just a 4 team playoff, Notre Dame just made their margin of error smaller than it already was. With not playing a championship game, and only having 12 games, they did have the fact that none of them were FCS teams and many of the teams that were playing in championships had an FCS team on their schedule. So in essence ND played the same amount of games as everybody else. For the year that they play Tennessee State, they cannot say that. It will be even tougher as an 11-1 team with other 11-1 or 12-1 teams to make it in a 4 team playoff.
  2. Recruiting also might become a little easier once the word is out about freeman and they win. Here’s the thing, freeman is being genuine with these boys and selling the hell out of the positives of ND. BK never did that. That is why he didn’t recruit tremendously. I do agree that everything will eventually take a toll and he may not stay 12 years, but I’m not giving BK that excuse. I would push back on the word great. To do great things would be to have won a championship or very close. In my opinion his teams weren’t close to beating the best. I know they got to the playoffs but no realistic chance to win. I think he did good to very good things for the program. Now, Those things were done to make himself look good and further his career, but they did help the program. I will say though that he might have done one great thing (quite possibly his best thing). He brought freeman to ND! That might be his legacy for me. 😎
  3. And I love every minute of it. That jackass was taking shots at the players. bryan driskell wrote a great article responding to Kelly’s nonsense. https://www.si.com/college/notredame/.amp/football/brian-kelly-didnt-win-at-notre-dame-because-of-brian-kelly-not-notre-dame
  4. When he publicly commits to ND, he is going to set off a chain reaction of incredible offensive commits.
  5. Agreed. It would be very hard to do. I think Rees and the staff have handled this qb situtjust about as well as you can.
  6. I’m just telling you Ive heard they have always been and still are in contact with him. He knows where they stand and vice versa. I think rees and company have done a great job maneuvering through this situation. Also, I would not be shocked if Dante was a silent commit and he was aware of that.
  7. He is not scorned. Nd has been completely up front with him, and I’m not sure I completely believe they are trying to bring him on campus now. I still believe that ND is completely in the drivers seat with Dante.
  8. My public commitment prediction in order by May 1 - jagusah, moore, James, by June 1 - Tate
  9. I’m not worrying about Rees at all. He will get players the ball in space and try to lineup to get good matchups like he did in the second half of the season. He doesn’t have Brian Kelly looking over his shoulder anymore. They are running drills in practice to suggest this very thing. If you want a clear picture, I highly suggest you watch Irish breakdown podcasts and or read Driscal’s articles About Reese, the offense and the receivers. I think you too will feel confident about rees.
  10. ND does crush things with NIL. They just don’t publicize it because they are trying to stay within the guidelines of what the NCAA has set up. Many ND players got paid big time last year. Kyle Hamilton was one of the highest paid players in the country. Nil will not be a problem getting qb’s to come to ND.
  11. They weren’t throwing to him. I think he finally realized that wasn’t the best situation for him because he’s just going to block. I bet he ends up at LSU.
  12. Would Notre Dame be able to win a national championship with three starting receivers the talent of Gallagher if they had Moore or Arnold throwing to them?
  13. I think eventually his goal is to be in the NFL. The guys he studies are from the NFL and many of his schemes are NFL based. Most of the coaches he surrounds himself with have some sort of NFL background. That’s not a bad thing just what it is. Hopefully he thinks that right now he’s not ready for that. Also Right now this isn’t even a rumor. It’s just a guy who said he thinks that Rees would be good for the job. I personally don’t want to see him go. I think he is just tapping the potential that he has as an offensive coordinator, but Also know that with more success will inevitably see him in the NFL soon.
  14. Well, he has just visited moore twice and according to a Michigan insider it sounds like he and nd are making quite an impression on moore right now. This recruiting win would be quite a statement.
  15. I see you talk a big game, but in the end you are willing to settle for less. I'm glad the people in charge now don't have your mentality. It's recruiting. Anything can happen. Arnold can absolutely be flipped. A good OC that is clearly in the mix for Moore doesn't give up on a program changer for Arnold at this point.
  16. You are confusing a Recruiting win with development. Buchner was an absolute big time recruiting Win by Rees. By the way his passing doesn’t suck. Does he need to continue to work on it. Yes. So let me get this straight, you want an elite quarterback, but you are willing to settle for Arnold. You have been yelling from the mountain tops that we need an elite quarterback. There is a definite difference between Arnold and Moore. Moore is a program changer and you’re willing to stop recruiting him to take Arnold? We are not behind for Moore in fact we are very much in the thick of things for Moore. I’d love to see your evidence that says that we are behind for Moore. A Michigan insider recently said that Notre Dame is killing it with Moore and Harbaugh‘s first order of business needs to be to contact him. also if they do happen to miss out on moore, they are still recruiting Arnold. Did you know that? He still plans to visit Notre Dame. Recruiting is very fluid and changes on a dime.
  17. “Rees keeps failing and given his track record, they’re going to get stuck with a crappy QB like Avery Johnson in the class of ‘23.” Track record? Did Rees get “stuck” with crappy Buchner? Another question for you. Should Rees have taken Arnold now if Arnold wanted to commit?
  18. Not true. I’ve read some very positive things about skill talent in the last couple of days. so in your opinion, nd does not have wr talent to compete with the big boys? I will challenge you on that. Colzie, styles, merriweather, thomas, lenzy and Davis are talented enough to play with the big boys. They need more depth obviously and They now need to be coached up. They haven’t been. The nucleus of talent is there.
  19. Yes and he barely got in. Think about that. Most of these undergrads just can’t make it for many reasons already spoken.
  20. I love the absoluteness of this. USC is now better than ND. Only 8-9 wins if don't use the portal. LOL. Have you not paid attention to any of the talk on here about the transfer portal? It's virtually impossible for them to bring in an undergrad. Period. If ND recruits well and the new coaches develop them, they will be just fine. Relax and let it play out or you can get all worked up. That is actually the more entertaining Elder.
  21. Here’s a great video of shephard. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&hl=en-us&tbm=vid&q=jamarcus+shepard+video&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiipqrN8ar1AhUNCs0KHc5zBwoQ8ccDKAJ6BAgGEAU&biw=390&bih=664&dpr=3#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:38c846e8,vid:H4cpgsSwZWY,st:0
  22. Not crazy about this one or quite understand it, especially if they bring in the transfer from Northwestern. Don’t see a spot for him in regards to playing time. I see him fifth on the depth chart, if the guy from Northwestern comes in.
  23. That looked a little cold between Hiestand and Kelly. Hell Kelly, this guy and your offensive line are the best in the country. Be excited. That clip (and I know it might be cherry picking) substantiates the rumors that Hiestand and Kelly did not get long/see eye to eye.
