  1. Not saying you’re wrong big, but I have heard different about Davis and lenzy. Heard Austin prob. gone.
  2. So it sounds like you are making a case to keep del. Which is it? Fire him. He sucks or defend him? 🤣🤣
  3. I think Rees took these guys at their word and was convinced he would get them. Im sure he has learned a very important lesson.
  4. Xayvion Bradshaw did not sign today. He could be a target now. Rumor is Rees liked him and wanted to take him, but was being overruled.
  5. I can't listen to you spout off about Rees being a bad recruiter anymore. This offensive class is a very good one. He is the reason schrauth, merriweather, and williams are in this class. He is the reason Diggs is sticking around for now. Our offensive skill players are good enough to win a title between Colzie, Styles, Merriweather, Williams, the backs, and the TE's. What evidence do you have that Rees isn't doing anything about the Wr's wavering? I have heard that Williams is much closer to staying now that he talked with Rees and Freeman. I have also heard that he reached back out to Nick Anderson. Can his QB recruiting get better? sure. Should we write off Angelli already? Absolutely not. You never know how recruits are going to pan out. Just because you say he isn't going to be good enough, doesn't make it so. Also, Rees is still learning. Has he made some mistakes? sure. He is young and is only going to get better. He now has much more recruiting help and support from his head coach. I for one love the upside of Tommy Rees as a recruiter and play caller.
  6. This deal is done. No worries. I believe Father Jenkins has to sign off on it and he is not in town at the moment.
  7. Del alexander sucked. Hopefully they can get a strong receiver coach and work on keeping Williams in the meantime.
  8. I would love that but there is zero chance Fickle and freeman will both be here.
  9. If notre dame wants to be a winning basketball program, it’s time for Brey to go. He has things he does/doesn't do that just hold this team back from being a consistent winning program. At notre dame, the basketball team winning isn’t necessarily priority number 1. Which imo is why Brey is still there which is frustrating.
  10. I have not read all of the posts diligently and this may have been said already. I apologize if it has. I truly believe that if Notre Dame goes into Palo Alto and curb stomps Stanford and Cincinnati wins out with standard wins, nd has A realistic shot of jumping Cincinnati. Cincinnati’s strength of schedule is just freaking awful and the committee knows that. If those two played right now Notre Dame would win more than likely. Notre Dame also makes them a shit load ton of money more than Cincinnati. I truly believe there is a scenario that Notre Dame Jumps Cincinnati even if they don’t lose. What say you?
  11. The rankings don’t start until week 8 so I don’t see that as a problem. I don’t have an issue with it. More playoff games and nd getting a shot almost every year at the playoffs. Sign me up. Hell if Alabama loses a close game to Georgia they will be in with 2 losses this year. Might as well open it up.
  12. I watched it. A few takeaways. Atkinson is a good low block scorer. The offense will run well if they run it through him and play an in out game. Hubb had zero, but what was great was he facilitated much better. He didn't force his shot. He ran the offense and trusted guys like Wesley (going to be a stud) and Goodwin to do the outside scoring. They now can ride different hot hands. They have plenty of guys that can score. Defense is still an issue and will continue to be - especially post defense. Only 7 guys are going to get decent minutes. That is one thing I have always hated about Brey. Zona, Sanders, Taylor, and JR are going to get no experience unless someone gets hurt.
  13. 1. The running backs on this team are beasts despite the crappy offensive line. 2. If given full reigns, Tommy Rees can be one of the best offensive coordinator’s in the country. 3. The one thing I hate about Brian Kelly is his stubbornness to think college football is like the NFL. Just win baby. 🤦‍♂️ 4. Notre Dame has the personnel to beat just about anybody in the country.
  14. I’m going to disagree a little on the o-line. Are they playing a little better? Yes, but they are still not good. Technique is awful but they are at least getting a body on a body and somewhat staying with it. Can they drive anybody off the line. No way. i think the turn around has everything to do with Rees taking the bye week to do self reflecting/analyzing/scouting of the offense and emphasizing the things that will help hide the deficiencies of the oline, highlight the playmakers, and the things coan does well. IMO if we were still running the style of offense we did in the first 6 games, most would still be complaining about coan and the oline. Rees deserves a lot of credit for the turnaround. Hopefully Rees and Kelly realize a change at oline coach is much needed.
  15. I was going to ask who thought would be top five on Tues. I could have just started another thread, but felt like it fit here instead of starting another thread. I did mostly answer your question by saying who I think will be their in the end.
  16. 1. At some point Rees is going to be one of the best offensive coaches in the country. He figured out how to hide the deficiencies of this offense with his scheme and play calling. He didn’t overhaul everything. He simply is emphasizing what nd has in the playbook and skill wise to make this offense much better. Let’s make no mistake about it the oline is still not good, especially the right side, but more rpo’s, running while spreading the field, tempo, screens, jet sweeps, and quick passes(some shorter routes) are all things that are allowing the offense to run better and pass block better. In my opinion this is what has made coan and the oline much better. 2. Kyren is a beast! 3. I know it has already been said, but Imo freeman is trying to run his def. Without the proper lbs to run it. I’m confident they will sure up the tackling. Next year Marist and kollie should help big time with speed and athleticism.
  17. I’m going to give the top 5 I think the committee will have on Tuesday. 1. Georgia 2. mich. St. 3. oklahoma 4. Oregon 5. Alabama 6. Ohio st 7. Cincinnati Ok the top 7. Lol. I think the committee is going to have a heck of a time deciding how to rank the 1 loss teams. I also think there is no way they are going to start cinn in the top 4. I think Oregon will be 4 because they have the best win of any of the top teams. if I were to list who I think the final 4 teams will end up being, I would go with your top 4 oKelley. Maybe mich st instead of Ohio st. I think Ohio st can be punched in the mouth and mich st just might be the team to do it.
  18. The AP poll means jack sh!t. The committee has proven that they don't care where teams are in the AP poll when they make their poll. My guess is Cinn. will not start off in the top 4. If ND wins out until Nov. 2nd, it will be interesting to see where they are placed. This year will be crazy. No true top teams. Maybe Georgia, but I'm still not totally sold. When all said and done Ohio St. might be the best.
  19. Skill wise I see what you are saying about book 2.0 however book never throws that td pass to lenzy. Wrs had to be completely wide open for him to throw the ball. Pyne knew he had 1 on 1 coverage with lenzy and after the play action he looked at lenzy and saw that the safety wasn’t moving over. So he let it fly even though lenzy wasn’t completely open. Not in a million years does book throw that ball.
  20. Two weeks ago people were bashing the fire quinn thread. I remember some people saying it was an emotional decision. I’m not saying you can fire him now, in season, but please give me any rational explanation on why you think he should stay after this year. This offensive line, believe it or not, has a lot of talent on it, but the fundamentals are unbelievably bad and that is purely coaching. This team has a shot at the national championship this year if it has a decent offensive line. The problem is I don’t see Quinn fixing the fundamental mistakes that need to be fixed. So damn frustrating.
  21. I am on this fence. Coan deserves the start against Cincinnati if 100% healthy. If he struggles I have no problem having the quick hook. I understand the “shiny new toys”argument, however pine very well might be the better choice given our god awful offensive line. Two reasons here he’s more mobile and he has a quicker release.
  22. Imo it’s one reason and one reason alone. Ticket prices! Why pay a stupid amount for a ticket when you can stay home with family and friends, have a few drinks during the game, and watch it on a 70 inch tv in a full home theater. It’s not just nd facing this problem. All sports venues with stupid ticket prices have an issue with this.
  23. The guards suck right now. Their technique is awful. They are not firing off the ball and when they make contact they quit moving their feet. That is horrible technique. I urge anybody to go back and look at maddens last year film and compare it to this years film. His technique was better last year. Tash Baker was actually pretty good. the only time he had trouble was on the speed rush like what was mentioned above. His technique was bad. He was hopping instead of taking long strides. Lugg was doing the exact same thing. I don’t have a Whole lot of faith that the technique is going to get cleaned up. by the way, Carmody needs to be moved inside. he’s not a tackle. He is physical however.
