  1. Lincoln Riley didn't start his head coaching career at ND. It is a totally different animal. ND needs a coach with successful experience. It is an extremely unique place to coach.
  2. Nooooo! I love Clark Lea as an outstanding defensive coordinator, but The head coach at Notre Dame needs to have significant And successful college head coaching experience.
  3. As a life long ND fan, Tim McCarthy will always be a part of my ND memories.
  4. I read or heard somewhere that Mickens is a firm believer in finding the ball as a corner and teaches this skill constantly in practice and demands his corners do it.
  5. I have heard some ND beat writers say as much as 22.
  6. Lenzy was not out during warm ups. He was either hurt or covid.
  7. Driskall was saying that he has people close to the program that said it has nothing to do with Armstrong's talent. He can't stay on the field. For whatever reason he is missing time. Also, a lot of the moves could be chalked up to Covid. We don't know. Kelly did say that because of the 10/14 day rules many players that have been in close contact but not had Covid have missed more time than players with Covid. We have no idea who those players are. This could be playing a part in the rb situation as well. It could also be a reason why Crawford is playing at S.
  8. Last Thursday Karter Karles said that Notre Dame is still talking to Edwards a lot and that he thinks ND has a better chance at him then many think.
  9. Love that video. He comes off as a bad *** country boy. ? this class is shaping up very nicely! Kudos to the staff.
  10. This team is now loaded with talent. Some transfers are imminent. 2021-22 team is what I'm looking at to compete for a championship again. Eligibility wise Seniors - Vaughn, cosgrove Juniors - Prohaska, Brunelle, Gilbert (I believe), Peoples, Mabrey sophomores - Westbeld, Campbell, Hayes, Marshall, Abdur-Rahim Freshmen - Miles, Citron possible starters - Miles, peoples, westbeld, brunelle, vaughn next five - Mabrey, Gilbert, Campbell, Citron, Marshall rest - Hayes, Abdur-Rahim, Prohaska, Cosgrove Wow! There will be defections! Not enough minutes for those that will deserve them.
  11. Lol. Why not? Our schedule would still be tougher than Clemsons.
  12. I could see that. Maybe the two didn’t see eye to eye and Ivey had someone else in mind she wanted to bring in.
  13. Maybe but surely she had to know that Ivey has been the choice for at least 2 years now.
  14. Elston looks for guys with certain measureables and skill sets that fit his system. He could care less about stars. I don't know about who Elston thinks Onye could be like but I do know that Onye was at the top of Elston's wish list.
  15. I heard an interview with him yesterday. I got the feeling he was going to choose Clemson. Notre Dame did everything they could. A few key take aways from yesterday's interview were... Will expressed that he was very interested in staying close to home. When asked about weather, he didn't sound crazy about playing in the coid. He also said that Clemson and Notre Dame were recruiting him very differently. He didn't say which he liked better just different. Apparently ND was always contacting him and putting on the full court press and Clemson laid low according to Will.
  16. Apparently Shipley was very very close to committing to Clemson 3 weeks ago. The full court press by ND made him rethink the commitment. Notre Dame has put everything into his recruitment. You can't blame them for lack of effort here. They did all they could and it seems like it won't happen. Karter Karles said that Shipley has been all over the place with his feelings. He said that he really has been very unpredictable. In the end these are 18 year old kids, you just never know. Do your best and hope the chips fall your way. This one loss would hurt but won't "kill" this class. They still have some time.
  17. This is another great get for Brey. Wertz is a 6’5 combo guard who can shoot from three. He can also drive to the basket and finish. Another type of guy that Brey needs to keep bringing into this program. He is an athletic perimeter shooter. He is transferring from Santa Clara and as of right now He will have to sit out a year. His final four were Notre Dame, North Carolina, Arizona, and butler.
  18. According to Carter Karles the rumors about ND not contacting Colzie are not true. It sounds like Colzie committed in the heat of the moment and has had doubts for a few months now. Mother loves ND and other recruits were pressuring him so he committed. It sounds like He wants to go through the recruiting process and his plan was to commit in the summer all along. Karles thinks its an ND/Georgia battle in the end.
  19. Nd is in top 6 with transfer Johnny juzan, top 11 with transfer trey wertz, and just offered 6-7 Tony Sanders. All three are exactly the type of player ND needs to bring in. I’m not holding my breath but I would be very happy with any of them.
  20. And what is worse, I don't see it getting better any time soon. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. :pout:
  21. Haha. I never said I wanted ND to be a one and done school. I don't want that, but they can put together programs similar to Virginia and Villinova. Brey is a decent coach, but he can do better.
  22. Lol. We will agree to disagree about Jeffress. Part of his profile is that he is a very athletic highly rated 6 -6 wing player that can slash to the basket and has a great mid range game. Harvey and Biedshied fit that profile coming out of high school. Nobody else on that list fits that profile. So, no Brey does not land this type of player often. You are right though Brey has a clear profile (which he needs to do some tweeking to IMO) that he wants and goes after, and in many cases for Brey's profile it doesn't matter if they are 120 or 50. I will give you he hits a top 150 player just about every year., But, lets be real there can be a huge difference between a player ranked 43 and a player ranked 82 and a player ranked 130. He has hit on a good amount of Lower profile and under the radar guys. Cooley, Nash, Hillesland, Abromaitis, Farrell, and Carter Can Brey develop the talent he gets and have good to decent teams? Yes. Does he need to pull in a more talented and better athletes to have better teams? Absolutely!
  23. Brey has only brought in 3 top 50 kids in his 21 years of recruiting. One was in his backyard and the other two transferred. He has also only brought in 16 top 100 players. The only players similar in style of game and talent to Jeffress that Brey has brought in are Bieschied and Harvey and neither one stayed. I'm not totally bashing Brey's recruiting. He has done a good job finding below the radar guys and making them very good players in his system, but when it comes to guys the caliber of Jeffress, he doesn't land them.
  24. Eh... Sure it would be nice and exactly the type of player they need, but Brey doesn’t win these kind of recruiting battles. I’m not holding my breath.
