I’ll say it, the Offensive recruiting sucks. I don’t hear ND making any progress on the top skill players. Freeman wasn’t hired just to stack up on D and if you’re getting this job at 36 w/ no experience, you better f’n get it together recruiting. All the skill position recruiting in ‘22 and ‘23 are lackluster.

Kelly is an elite Coach, and they swapped him out for someone who doesn’t know wtf they’re doing. He’s supposed to be this Ace recruiter but his Offensive recruits suck.

What the hell has Freeman done except choke in the Bowl game. What the hell has Rees done except constantly fail to recruit a decent QB and turn marginal QBs into above Avg QBs. But you’re right, the players all love him so they’ll play extra hard when they’re losing by 40 to Ohio St. But at least ND is cool bc Mike Golic Jr says so.

Tommy Rees has been the QB coach since ‘17, so he’s responsible for a lot of those failures. You can’t admit Kelly was a great coach. All of those social media hype for Rees & Freeman is moronic. Freeman can recruit elite Defensive players, but that’s it. Rees is a decent play caller but can’t recruit worth a damn.

If Harbaugh leaves and he can’t close Moore, he needs to be demoted. Have him stick to calling plays and game planning, but get someone on who can actually sign a QB that doesn’t suck.

That’s great except that leaves the program totally screwed for at least 3 years. Like we’ve talked about in the main thread, ND is too god dam stubborn to work the portal, so they’re going to be left with nothing at QB.

That was a different era, Bama adapted to the change in the game when they hired Kiffin. UGA’s formula for winning is an outlier.

TE at ND basically recruits itself. I can’t remember the last time ND didn’t have a quality TE.

Again, I’m glad it’s someone with a little more experience on the resume. I was worried ND was trying to be the “cool” school and hire only young coaches. Parker is only 41, but he’s got 15+ years experience.

IDGAF, to me that says he cares more about himself than winning. Seriously, he couldn’t wait a full day? Burton transferred to Bama but he at least waited a bit and took time appreciate the accomplishment. Bolting 10 hours after winning the title is a bad look.

99% of players transfers sucked before the portal. Now, you’ve got starters off a National Championship team transferring. I still think the kid who transferred less than a day after UGA won the title is a red flag. Imagine being that selfish of an a hole where you can’t celebrate for a full day w/your team. That really, really rubs me the wrong way.

First off, I’d settle for a Corner that was average. Secondly, it’s going to hard, but it’s a necessity. If teams are going to rebuild their entire roster through the Portal, then ND has to figure out how to use it as a Supplement. It’s like being a small market team in the MLB. You have to develop the bulk of your roster internally, you can’t be the Yankees and just sign every big name FA. However, you still have to spend some $ to fill in the gaps on your roster.
