  1. In this day and age, players are flight risks even after they arrive. See Dante Moore, the A&M gang, and others
  2. I am hoping that Michigan coming in 2nd place will offset seeing them win vs. Alabama. That was definitely a game where I wanted to aliens to take out both teams.
  3. Burgess still keeping things close to the vest. No change to any recruiting site's predictions including a lack of 247 crystal balls.
  4. Saban must be losing it, this will be three years for him without a NC.... 😃
  5. For what it is worth, not only did Oregon St have most of their opt outs on offense, ND was also short-handed on their O as well. So a quick (but not 100% accurate) summary would be ND's mainly second string offense did well playing against Oregon St's 1st and 2nd string defense. In that light, the offensive success might not be so quickly dismissed as the result of a glorified "scrimmage". It might be better to "pump the brakes" due to concern that the results were heavily influenced by the Irish having a new play caller on offense along with there being no tape of Angelli to plan against. Or you can celebrate the glass being half full and just enjoy the results for awhile without being a negative Nancy.
  6. As far as I know, Daeh has never transferred. This year was his freshman year. He was a high school senior for the 2022 season. You are probably thinking of his older brother Dasan who plays LB. So I ask the question again, is Daeh McCullough (Oklahoma safety now in portal and son of ND RB coach Deland McCullough) someone who the Irish would pursue?
  7. Saw a report that Jim Harbaugh hired a new agent with NFL ties. May not mean anything but who knows...
  8. Ability to read defense, process a lot of data, and make a quick decision is a key attribute for NFL QBs. A quick release and strong arm helps as well. College QBs can be successful without checking all of the boxes but it sure helps to have both the mental and physical tools.
  9. Is Daeh McCullough (Oklahoma safety now in portal and son of ND RB coach Deland McCullough) someone who the Irish would pursue?
  10. Winning percentage would be a better measure than just wins since 12 game regular season started after Holtz became coach.
  11. As well as the new S&C coach. So something seems to have changed for the positive.
  12. In November, prior to re-classifying, Humes' top 5: Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon and Penn State From what I can tell from a quick google search, his four OVs in January are: Notre Dame, Penn State, Florida, and Syracuse.
  13. No 247 Crystal Balls to anywhere. On3 has ND as his highest probability (<30%) but take that with a grain of salt since they give Illinois a greater shot than Alabama and the Illini did not make his top 4.
  14. Well, he has not fumbled in three years (143 receptions) so he must be doing something right...
  15. At this point, I am guessing that Denbrock has figured out what he wants to do with the rest of his coaching career. If he was not already there, he is now set for life financially (assuming his ND contract is at least $8M guaranteed over the next 4 years). If he wanted to be a head coach, he could have easily found an opportunity. Likewise, if he wanted to jump to NFL, he could have gone that direction rather than take the ND OC job. As a result, he should be focused on being successful at ND. I also get the vibe that Golden might be OK with being the Irish DC for awhile. There is something to be said about finding your niche and staying there. Especially if you can make seven figures doing it.
  16. For what it worth, Brian Kelly is 0-2 vs ND in terms of OCs. Rees did not join him and now Denbrock is leaving him
  17. According to 247, all but three west coast commits have already signed for 2024 class https://247sports.com/college/notre-dame/Season/2024-Football/Commits/
  18. At 330 pounds, doubtful that any other news will be "bigger" than Charles... 😄
  19. Might not be about money for Parker since Troy was paying their old coach $1M https://www.wsfa.com/2023/10/04/sumrall-highest-paid-coach-troys-history/ Based on market rates, Parker should have been making more than that as the Irish OC.
  20. BTW, Troy University is in Troy, Alabama, in the SE portion of the state.
  21. What are the chances that ND's next OC just happens to already be on staff?
  22. At first I thought you wrote "I hope that Carr is a dud" and I was going to question that statement. Reality is that you need to plan for one season at a time given the realities of the transfer portal (and injuries and recruits not panning out)
  23. BTW, Joey Tanona transferring to Purdue. I do not think that he was able to continue at ND due to him taking a medical hardship due to aftermath of an auto accident. Good that he has recovered and is able to play football since it was thought that his career was over.
