  1. The Curse Podcast is back and they tackle this topic this week. This episode is a good one. Link below: The Curse Podcast: Conference Realignment
  2. The Rumors are he's only entered the portal to create a bidding war. Apparently Georgia has already run it up to $2M in NIL deals. The portal, in addition to NIL and without regulation ... is absurd.
  3. Not only did she go there, but about 25 of her extended family members also went there. Thinking we can't watch this one together ... any suggestions?
  4. Rumor is Marcus Freeman is making a run at him. I'd suspect we'd make him WR Coach and Pass Game OC. This would be a homerun sports.
  5. Stoops is taking over as interim head coach - right now, it looks like it's just for a bowl game. It might be good for him to take over for a year while the musical chairs settles down. Kind of like OSU did with Fickell. This is a weird time in college football.
  6. Can you link them here? I can't seem to find a message board with this information.
  7. Agree - Oklahoma has been blown out a few times in the CFP, but they did have a classic against Georgia in the 2017 season. They've also won major bowl games recently outside the CFP, which is why I think you see less 'hate' coming their way: 2010 Fiesta Bowl 2013 Sugar Bowl 2016 Sugar Bowl 2020 Cotton Bowl
  8. Bye Cincy. I also don't want to play them again - that's a zero-sum game. Give me Michigan. Please give me Michigan.
  9. I'm one of those that think it's not in the best interest of the program to go to the playoff and get torched and I don't consider myself a coward. I consider myself a realist and pragmatist, but we all approach this with a different lens. It's interesting to me, how there are two very clear positions on this topic among ND faithful, and each with the intention of bettering the program. I'd be more than willing to have you on our podcast to discuss.
  10. With all this talking about ND and the playoffs, I think everyone would enjoy the recent two episodes of The Curse podcast released last night. A fair take on the ND/UVA game and 'The Landscape' episode is mostly about the CFP after the first 15-20 minutes (with lots of references to ND). https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-curse/id1589146918
  11. How many wins will there be against teams ranked at the end of the season? Digging deeper, how many wins against teams that finished in the top 10 at the end of the season? Hell, how many wins against top 10 teams at the time of the game. (I don't count 2020 Clemson against a team that has multiple star players out)
  12. Let's also not forget how the schedule looked during that same time. Cincy, USC, UNC, and Wisconsin were all projected to be top teams.
  13. To be fair, he's saying 'at least' 14 points. In my opinion, it'd be at least 21 points.
  14. Why would anyone want to to go to the CFP this year? I honestly don't understand it. If we make it, there's a 99% chance we'd be the 4-seed against UGA or Bama. We'd lose to either of those teams by 3+ TDs. It would perpetuate the national opinion ND is overrated and never wins the big one, which hurts recruiting. Further, we don't deserve it. We play a horrible schedule and there are multiple 2-loss teams I'd take over ND. I want the Fiesta Bowl again a big name program, specifically Michigan. It's a game with national interest, inclusive of two overrated teams, but a game we can win and build on. If we play Cincy, there'd almost be no point in watching.
  15. To me, the 'recruiting' argument is a bit of a cop-out. Ohio State does it ... Hell, Michigan has had good success in Florida recently. Here's the bottom line: If you win football games, everything takes care of itself. So, the question becomes: Is ND willing to do what it takes to win a title? My opinion: Jenkins, Swarbrick, and Kelly think they are doing everything they can to win a title. But these three are not capable of it, not for lack of effort, but because they don't understand what it takes. They've made this very clear in their actions over the last 12 years. Anyone who feels differently, is clearly watching the team with blinders. The product speaks for itself - Notre Dame can beat (sometimes barely) teams ranked between 20-50. They very rarely beat teams ranked in the top 10 - (2012 Oklahoma and 2020 Clemson), and even then OU finished with 3 losses and Clemson was without many key players.
  16. The Curse Podcast rankings was an interesting (and funny segment) in this week's Landscape episode. A certain someone has ND at #5 ... https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-landscape-college-football-week-10/id1589146918?i=1000541073682
  17. I agree with this. The hurry-up, in combination with the play calling, has allowed Coan to be more successful. Quick throws, shorter patterns (unless we see an advantage in the coverage), has allowed ND to be more successful and put less pressure on an average O-Line. UNC is horrific on defense, and so does UVA this week.
  18. Although none of us want to join one, the reality is ... it's likely to happen. I'd bet before the decade is out.
  19. You seem to care quite a bit about ratings, which I get. Play that FSU game right now in primetime ... you think we get those kind of ratings (now that people know what FSU is)? No. What's the common denominator among all the examples you mention with ratings? Notre Dame playing in the game. Ratings come with Notre Dame, no matter who the opponent is. You think if the ACC title was Clemson/Pitt, they get those kind of ratings? You think Notre Dame/Ohio State wouldn't match Notre Dame/Clemson? Keep in mind, last year was unique. ND had beaten #1 Clemson, become #1, and it was their first time ever in a conference title. I'm sure that sparked interest as well. If you play the hypothetical game and sub in the Big10 for the ACC and sub in Ohio State for Clemson ... you're result would be the same. In fact, it'd be interesting to compare ratings of this year's ACC title against the Big10's. It might be Wake Forest/Pitt vs. Ohio State/Wiscy or Iowa.
  20. FYI - I'll add this topic to the podcast in the coming weeks. It'll be interesting because we also have a co-host from Clemson.
