  1. Dude, give it up. First you say Carr should transfer when he isn’t even here yet. Then suggest red shirt. Then he starts. You’re killing your own posts.
  2. Good call. Is there, in your opinion, a “Jalen Hurts” that will be in the portal this year?
  3. I understand your points. But if you bring in a transfer QB for the third out of four years, and you do that early enough in the year to allow that QB to become familiar with the system, I think odds are either Angeli or Minchey see the writing on the wall and leave and you’re back to having a Numbers problem. and, let’s face it, if you’re talking about your third or fourth QB, the season’s done. Or maybe I’m too focused on the long-term in this fluid football world, but I say roll with Angeli and Minchey as presumptive 1-2, put Carr in whatever spot he earns, and play it out.
  4. Past. There have been good ones, but I can’t think of any 1 & done transfer QBs that made CFP.
  5. I know this will be unpopular, but I think no portal, go with who we have. I don’t know why people are dismissing Angeli. He has good size - 6’2” & 210 lbs. in limited action, he’s 75% completions, 3 TDS, no INTs, no sacks, good speed, strong (not strongest, but strong) arm. He’s behind not the 1st team line mostly. He’ll be 3 years in system. Minchey has more upside, so everyone says, but it will be his 2nd year in system. Haven’t seen him enough to give an opinion. My biggest concern is the long term effects of going into portal again. Not unreasonable that Angeli AND Minchey leave if they bring in new starter, leaving new guy backed up by true freshman Carr. Start Angeli or Minchey, the other stays as they are 1 play away, and I believe both believe they would be ahead of Carr. College game just too fast for a true freshman to come in and start. Is Carr higher recruit than Arch Manning, who’s #3 on Texas depth chart? Good QB recruiting under CMF. I don’t know a better way to sabotage that success than with taking transfer portal QB year after year. Can anyone list a single highly successful (CFP) 1-and-done transfer QB? If yes, I am open to reconsideration.
  6. Skip the 2nd quarter and 5 mins of 3rd. Rest is worth watching, but maybe in fast forward scan until 6 mins left in 4th
  7. ND fan since watching Lindsey Nelson recaps when I was 6. Bucket list trip with nephew to see Irish demolish Texas in 2015. 3 of the best days ever. Jaw hanging to the ground the entire time on campus and around South Bend. Then saw the Irish double up on Navy in San Diego in 2018.
  8. Here are my 2 memories of JJ. First, screws up a screen pass designed for him in spring game. Second, plays in a game last year and gets a personal foul penalty called against him for punching a defender who is on the ground. Not impressed.
  9. The short answer to which question? Respectfully disagree. While you may have a point about Book's ability to read defenses, opinion meter goes down if you answer yes to any of those questions. Of course, that's just my opinion.
  10. Griffith/Lamb/Oghoufo/Rutherford: Coach Lea, I didn't really get a shot at ND, but I like your coaching style and I think I'm better than anyone on the Vanderbilt squad. Besides, Vanderbilt is a good academic school to finish my education. If I enter transfer portal, will you accept me at Vanderbilt? Nothing nefarious. No, I'm not accusing Lea of tampering with players. Just tossing this out there. Anyone else think of this?
  11. Maybe because JJ got his first taste of action and got a personal foul for slugging a defender in the chest when he was down on the ground. Lack of maturity and giving no reason to be put back out on the field.
  12. On what basis? Have you ever seen him play on anything than 1 or 2 series in mop up? If you don't think Clark can do well, and presumably don't think Pyne can do well, why not just start Buchner and go through growing pains for 1 year.? My concern about Clark is his health - knee. If his ACL that he's now wearing a brace for needs anything more than cleaning, he'll be out all spring and maybe longer. Not good for prospects.
  13. They have 1 now,and they played the #2 and #3 teams pretty close.
