I honestly wouldn't expect to be any where near the top 25. I mean, we were 6-6, lost a 3 year starter at QB, our top WR and we are in the process of changing coaches and systems. I don't want to be a "Debbie Downer" but would anyone think we should be listed in the top 25?

If McNabb doesn't go to 'skins then we ~might~ have seen Jimmy go in the top 5. Not saying it would have happened but could have. That being said, the trio of picks by the raiders, bills (can't think of the other team) all passing on JC tells you that it wasn't a good fit. The question becomes then is "why"? My personal thought is both should have come back for another year. If you really think about it, both IMO were only did "it" for one year. Outside of ND nation, nobody ever heard of Tate and JC wasn't that good up till this year. Come back one year and become that big time player, show you can adjust to a new system and coaching.

I think that its just another way to screw the game up. If you don't want the other team showboating on the way to the end zone, STOP them from getting to the end zone. Taking points off the board for a penalty is just asking for it. I mean the coaches, teams, university's and even the NCAA are asking these kids to play with as much emotion and hart on every play, but don't want them to show it on "the way into" the end zone. They loved it when Tebow was crying on the side lines...just hope he doesn't hold the ball out when going in for a score. Not to mention that its a subjective call by the ref. Hope the ref wasn't playing the under on his vegas line. Cause now he CAN take points off the board. Thats just crazy.

Not saying he isn't talented, but I think being in Pelini's system really helps him. The big kid Dorsey outa LSU dominated when Pelini was coaching down there. People were saying the same thing about him. Granted, he did get hurt but not much has come of him in the NFL.

I agree that Suh has a better chance of going first but I wonder how much of it is talent or how much it is Bo Pelini defensive scheme.

The travel would be a nightmare for ND, Navy, and Southern Miss. I mean you would have at least 3 inconference road games and going to BSU, Utah, and BYU (or most of the other combos) in a single year would be crazy. Not to mention you have USC every other year plus any other non conference games. I guess I am a simple man. If ND were to join any confernce, it would be BE followed closely by the Big10. Both make logical since in my mind.

6 games...We are going to be starting either a Freshman QB or a QB that is less then a year off of a major knee injury. I don't like the sound of either. Plus toss in a new systems, with what I am guessing is new reads for the both our QB and WRs. Then add in a front heavy schedule, it could get ugly early. I think the first 3 games are very important to us. We must get out of the gates early and start winning.

My parents lived just across the river from you in Georgetown IN. Really small town. I always loved going over there...the city of Lovisville just seemed to pop up when driving in from the east on 64. Loved the river front down there too.

I think the fact that his buddy goes to ND and has been a super star in the making helps us out more then anything else.
