Exactly my point. I don't think CW is on the hot seat and even IF he was, I think as ND you have to let him finish his 5 years (which makes a mote point). If you don't let him, then no coach in the country (that we would want) would touch the job w/ a 10 foot pole. I think this thread had started down the path of "CW has to win x amount next season" and I don't think he does.

Lets just say that we have another 3-9 season this year. if CW is the on "hot seat" now that should surely get him the boot. So lets say that CW gets canned. Who do you pick up now? Name one coach that you would want to see here at ND. Not just naming names but someone that would be willing to come even after seeing that the last 2 coaches were fired prior to finishing there 5 year contract. That list of coaches isn't very long. My point is that change for the sake of change isn't always good.

Totally agree, but I remember when Rich went to WVU. Don Nehlen left him a decent team. Rich didn't try to keep the old system and recruit his players, he just plowed right into his system and tried to fit guys into it. Needless to say, it didn't work and I believe he went 3-8 in his first year. I could see him doing that again this year and I don't think UM has the players to do it right now.

I heard for a very unreliable source (my mothers, fathers, friends, car dealers, son's, big brother's, sister) we are totally changing the uniform this year. We would be dawning pink helmets this year. The jerseys will remain the same except for small pink and purple polka dots and the names added. We have gone the route of the XFL and are allowing the boys to put nicknames on the back of the jersey. It rumered that JC has taken “walks on water” the O-line as a whole will be wearing “Block what?” and the each linebackers will be wearing “TENUTA”. It’s not confirmed yet but our pants could be 80's style leotards with scrunchy socks color being a matching purple on one side and pink on the other. Honestly, it’s the Irish boys. This is the team that doesn’t have a symbol on there helmet nor names on there jerseys. I seriously doubt if we see a change that it could be that bad….well the Green they had on last year for SC was really nasty.

Would you trade our players on D for that of Ga Tech last year or the year before? JT did very well with the players he had there and I think our talent is better then he had. I think he and CB will get the job done and if they want to blitz 80% of the plays I think we will see positive results.

I had heard a year or so ago (maybe longer) that Nike was starting to pull out of sponsoring collage teams but that they would keep certain high profile teams. I would think that UM would be a high profile team but then again I guess Nike didn't think so. And to think NBC extended our TV deal, whats that tell you?

Let’s call a spade a spade. Golic is a celebrity, alum’s son. I am not saying he doesn't deserve to go to ND but if his last name wasn't Golic, would he have been a target of the football staff? That in mind, are we really surprised that he wasn't rated any higher?

Not to take anything away from Williams but I think a lot of people would have looked good playing next to Laws last year. He was an animal.
