  1. I completely agree.. and that is exactly what I was trying to say. Yeah.. it may not be Texas' fault that Bradford went down.. and it's not Cincy's fault for playing their schedule either.. pure and simple. I'm not saying Cincy is a legit opponent; I just think that it is crappy that Texas is the automatic bid in everyone's mind.
  2. btw.. how in the world could you call cincy's performance unimpressive today... that's laughable. Sure they gave up a ton of points.. but the heart that they showed was unreal.
  3. I just looked at Texas' schedule. I'm extremely unimpressed. They beat an Oklahoma team without Sam Bradford... and an Oklahoma State team that kind of sucks. I mean I guess they did own Louisiana-Monroe.. and UTEP lol.. I'm not saying that Cincy has played much better.. but after watching the Longhorns against a good D tonight.. I was just unimpressed.. and I think that it's total crap that if you play in a big conference and win out that your automatically destined to go to the BCS championship game. I fully believe that TCU can and would beat Texas.. and I think that Cincy would give them a decent game at the very least.
  4. No offence.. but I think that it's a little crazy to think that one game won or lost by another program is going to decide who are next coach is. Let's be real here: Stoops cannot say it more plainly.. If he comes to ND after saying all of that, then he's worse than Rich Rod, and Rich Rod is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to being honest and classy. Meyer has it great at UF,.. sure, they lost today. That definitely 'helps' or chances, but I would use that word lightly. I say we just went from .01% to maybe 1%... not a bad increase, but were still not getting him. (Oh how I would love to eat my words, lol). Brian Kelly will more than likely be our next coach. He said he would entertain talks,.. and I believe him. He may have told is players he was staying, but what else is he going to say? Give it time.. he'll be our next coach. Dark Horse candidate: Gruden... If it's Edsell.. I'm done with ND.
  5. I had the same thought cross my mind as I watched the game. I find it hilarious that all of the ESPN 'gurus' gave Nebraska a "1%" and a "5%" chance of winning the game.. and then basically said that those estimates were generous. Two things I took away from the game: 1) Suh is an absolute beast... no denying that at all. I honestly believe that he should get serious heisman consideration. 2) Texas does not deserve to play in the BCS title game... I would put TCU and probably Cincy in front of them.. easily.
  6. I know that there has been a ton of discussion lately about the potential termination of Charlie Weis, and I would be remiss to say that some of it isn't merited. However, I think that I few things need to be taken into consideration (mind you, I am just playing devil's advocate): 1. Our team lacks senior leadership. Our senior class was one of Charlie's first classes, if not his first, and as we all know, it's not exactly loaded with talent like some of the subsequent classes. I honestly believe that this is why we cannot finish football games. There is absolutely no way that we should have lost to Syracuse, Pittsburgh, or North Carolina. Add 3 to the win column, take three from the loss,.. now how do you feel about the season? We need solid seniors to provide the "killer instinct". 2. This is Charlie's first head coaching job. Not an excuse.. just something to consider. Maybe he shouldn't have been hired in the first place. 3. Our defense isn't nearly as bad as they are made out to be.. seriously. Giving up 24 to Syracuse may look horrible (and it kind of is), but you have to consider the fact that the offense fell in love with 3 and outs that game. Anyone who has played football knows how essential it is for the offense to stay on the field for a little bit to give the defense a rest. 4. The expectations at Notre Dame are astronomical. I want ND to be the best every single season, but programs experience mediocrity from time to time (e.g. USC in the 90s). ND will be back.. and I honestly feel that that day could be very soon. No matter what, I will still be an Irish fan. It's hard sometimes, and I'm sure that tonight's game will be another low-light in the volumes of Notre Dame lore, but all things considered, Notre Dame is the greatest place in the universe for football. Go Irish! Now please feel free to fillet my opinions.. I will take no offense, lol.
  7. he's probably 4 feet tall too.. no offense but bench pressing is wayyyyyyyyyyyy overrated.
  8. yeah,.. I had to check on this one, but it's true. Nice pick up here at the end.
  9. I thought that this one was all said and done,.. with Hughes going to the Illini,.. but it looks like the tide has turned once again. It is hard suffering through personnel changes (i.e. think about Charlie's first recruiting class); I just wish that Brown could have got here sooner. We could possibly be looking at having a few more elite prospects in the fold.
  10. Ken Norton Jr. .... his name makes him sound like a bad ass. Can't beat that!!
  11. wow, this is disappointing. hmm,...
  12. I think that this is pretty realistic.
  13. the last person that I heard doing 40 + reps that wasn't over 250, was Tim Tebow. I think that he's a pretty good player, . It's not all about strength and athleticism, but they sure don't hurt.
  14. lol,.. I hope MICH play for the NC and wins. I can't stand SC and I definitely can't stand OSU. Never thought that I would say it, but GO BLUE!
  15. Grades are killing us this year. It didn't seem like it was that big a deal last season.
  16. I think that IU is making a lot of steps in the right direction with their football program. I just hope that they don't get good enough to start pulling some kids from the area, which I don't think that they will any time soon, but who knows down the road. Hopefully by the time that IU gets good, we'll be fully back to our elite status.
  17. We definitely need a new D-coordinator; Romeo would be a dream. I don't really see that happening though. If it does,.. we would be set. Romeo Oh Romeo
  18. im not sure how many kids would realize that. the '04 and '05 classes were probbly the worst in ND history. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It's really sad that we're still unraveling Ty's mess. That bastard...
  19. The fibula is also known as the calf bone. It's on the lateral side of the tibia (the shin bone). It's a skinny and long bone that would seem to be very painful to break and probably take quite a bit of time to rehab.
  20. I haven't heard much about him being turned on to the Irish. Because of that, I would be very surprised if he announced Irish. However, now that Benn is out I wouldn't be surprised if Jay Smith might have changed his mind. I think that Broke said that Benn will be Irish come NSD whether he committed or not. I think that Benn is great, but I really don't think that this kid is typical ND. The interview after his commitment to IL made me think that he was a little too individualistic for ND. Plus, I remember a while back when he went out to see Jimmy play in the 7 on 7, he said something to the effect of "Jimmy is good, but let's keep it honest,,... he's not the greatest quarterback that I have ever seen." I don't know,.. if we don't get him in the end, I won't be crying. Jay Smith would be nice though. You can teach height (6'4")
  21. yeah, it's not working for me either. Ohh well,.. i guess.
  22. thanks for this info. I think that I'll probably use this tool outside of the ND game too.
  23. This is unbelievable. We are going to have two receivers drafted highly in the draft and this guy picks Illinois. This has got to be a joke. HAVE FUN BRO. good luck. Too bad Juice can hardly throw the freaking ball and he constantly has to run his way out of trouble bc the o-line sucks. 2-8 or 8-1 hmmm,.... He must of benn (lol) scared of the competition. I guess I don't blame him for that.
  24. Yeah, this would be a good sign,.. I really didn't think that we were ever slipping with G little though. The whole Butch Davis thing has kind of got me concerned. I still feel that G little will be blue and gold (just like his suit and tie at the presser) when it is all said and done.
