Zim screwed up and that new testimony is going to fry his ass. Well maybe not fry but lock up for a long time. It is S. Florida afterall. The most liberal place in America

Sorry but South Florida is not even close to the most liberal place in America. It's not even liberal. Chicago's more liberal.

Report from the front lines of the war zone known as Chicago.

DEATH CITY: Homicides in Chicago soar; 120 dead in 2012, 500 wounded...

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-chicago-homicides-soar-20120412,0,1713215.story

And in Afghanistan? 68 brave members of the US military this year.

I'll go one better -

Detroit gun homicides in 2011 = 308

Entire nation of Canada = 200

I'm not sure gun laws/access is the difference, but I sure feel safer in Canada.

Here are two impoverished cities separated by 200 yards of water. What's the difference? Guns is one.

I think when people cite those numbers, they really, really, really miss the point. It's not guns that are the problem. It's the culture in possession of those guns. Breakdown the gun deaths amongst different cultural groups and you'll see it depends on the culture, not the possession of the weapon. There are a couple of groups that have a disproportionate share of gun deaths amongst themselves despite a relatively proportional amount of gun ownership among all groups.

There's a reason Canada is safer, and it's not whether they possess guns or not. It's the people who live there and the culture in which they live. Everybody in Switzerland owns a gun. What's their gun death rate?

The gun issue is a problem in America, only because we're a melting pot. We're willing to look at different cultural groups when it benefits those groups, but refuse to look at them separately when that scrutiny is negative. Instead, we lump everyone in the same category and try to solve the problem superficially without stating the real issue, which is that there are a couple of groups who refuse to get with the program, find some values, and quit committing disproportionate crime.

What's funny is as soon as you call out inner city culture, the comparison comes up pitting inner city citizens versus suburban citizens when the most fair comparison is between inner city citizens versus rural citizens. They're economically equivalent, yet one group commits a disproportionate amount of violent crime while the other group does not. As far as drugs, they may be equivalent, but I'm not as familiar with that fact. When they talk about kids going hungry, it's not the kids in the inner city. It's the kids in the rural areas, because they either refuse or don't know how to suck off the government tit.

If you want to talk about gun deaths, you have to talk candidly about bullshit inner city culture. And, that culture has to stop pointing the finger and start looking in the mirror to figure out the solution. You can't take credit for your culture, then say someone is racist for calling you out based on the same generalities on which you rely for your accolades.

Look, you don't want to be stereotyped, then you have a responsibility to change the culture with which you associate yourself. That's all there is to it. Guns aren't the problem. People are the problem.

Great stuff Drew.

Those who want to outlaw guns are only disarming law abiding citizens. Such laws don't matter to the bad guys.

The good guys won this encounter: http://www.nwherald.com/2013/03/11/four-charged-with-home-invasion-at-least-three-shots-fired-during-incident/awu9x4k/
