  1. If I can chime in, I also think that getting Lucier-South and Cowart would be great....
  2. Clemson was 11-2 last year. Not sure that I would call them a cupcake...
  3. Here is FSU early schedule. 8/30 OK St. at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas 9/6 vs The Citidel 9/13 Open 9/20 vs Clemson 9/27 at NC St. 10/4 vs Wake Forest 10/11 at Syracuse 10/18 vs ND
  4. I'm assuming that George Whitfield's connections helped Golson get the camp gig but it can only help ND's QB recruiting to have have him looking good in front of high school QBs. (Also helps Whitfield's business as well)
  5. Any QB that is drafted is not "average". Most schools are lucky to have a QB drafted every five plus years. From 2010 to 2014, only 12 QBs a year (on average) were drafted. For a given year, I venture that the last QB drafted is still one of the top 20 QBs in college (including underclassmen not eligible for the draft).
  6. If ND can average top 10 classes while only averaging nine wins, they should be able to improve recruiting by winning more games.
  7. An average ranking of #5 would be better... The extra 4 and 5 star players to be ranked #5 vs. #10 should translate to one additional player getting drafted each year. Which for a given season would mean having an extra two or three future NFL players on the field. The impact of those players would be???
  8. I'm guessing that the services will 're-examine' the three stars that commit to top programs to see what they may have missed from an evaluation perspective. A lot of times, these players are getting their offers (or having them become actionable) only after a school's coaches see them in person at a camp. The services' "experts" are making most of their evaluations based on measurables and tape review. I cannot imagine that the majority of two and three stars get more than 5-10 minutes of attention before getting ranked.
  9. Has Corey Robinson added any weight or is he still in the 205 range?
  10. Is there some type of practice going on?
  11. For the record, elite teams (including Bama) do actually sign 3 star DL Number of Three Star DL recruits (using 247 composite) For Bama: 2015 - 2 (Christian Bell and Anfernee Jennings) 2014 - 2 (OJ Smith and Johnny Dwight) 2013 - 0 2012 - 2 (Darren Lake and Dakota Ball) For Florida State 2015 - 0 (note only one DL recruit) 2014 - 4 (Leonard, Torres, Williams, Jones) 2013 - 2 (Hollin, Bryant) - Note that Bryant was a 2 star 2012 - 1 (Stuckey) For LSU 2015 - 1 (Washington - only DL recruit so far) 2014 - 2 (Teuhema, Lealaimatafao) 2013 - 2 (Patterson, Neal) 2012 - 0 For Ohio State 2015 - 0 2014 - 2 (Slade, Thompson) 2013 - 1 (Sprinkle) 2012 - 0 USC 2015 - 1 (Jefferson) 2014 - 2 (Dorton, Hill) 2013 - 0 (Only one DL signed) 2012 - 1 (Breslin)
  12. Was that when Diaco was around and Cornell did not quite the profile of Diaco's D?
  13. I often wondered if running DL on and off the field was really worth it since the running back and forth probably wore them out more than staying on the field for an extra play or two.
  14. Number of five stars landed by Kelly for this class will probably depend on him having a good season. 2013 9-4 = 1 five star 2012 12-1 = 4 five stars 2011 8-5 = 1 five star 2010 8-5 = 2 five stars 2009 6-6 = 0 five stars 2008 7-6 = 1 five star 2007 3-9 = 3 five stars 2006 10-3 = 1 five star 2005 9-3 = 2 five stars
  15. I do not think that it is an understatement to say that without Navy, ND would not exist today.
  16. shamrock series game also gives them a chance to wear an alternate uniform each year.
  17. I would not have thought the average starting position was that bad. Based on those numbers, I agree, get the touchback.
  18. With the new rule about touchbacks coming out to the 25 instead of 20, kicking it out of the end zone is not as good of a thing anymore.
  19. As far as I know, GA3 could have come back. It was his choice to enter the draft.
  20. Don't go off topic. If you want to talk about Waller, start a new thread...
  21. It looks as if he transferred to a pretty exclusive boarding prep school (Milton Academy). As a result, they might have thought that he wasn't academically prepared to come in as a sophomore and so had him repeat his freshman year. Given that he was looking at ND, Stanford, and Northwestern, it seems that his academics are pretty solid.
  22. Haven't you heard? "They" have figured out a way around aluminum, you have to fabricate a steel hat to be safe these days...
  23. Not to be a jerk but wondering if you read the linked article since that info is in there. If the link showed up while you were posting, then my apologies. BTW, he's one of two top kickers this year.
  24. Neighbor's 21 year old daughter and her friend ran into a current, high profile NBA free agent a few years ago in a hotel bar in Denver. According to her, after a few minutes of innocent chit chat, he slid his hotel key across the table and said something like "you two know the drill, go upstairs, get naked and wait for me. I'll be up in a little bit". Insulted (since hooking up with him was not their intent or desire), the girl and her friend got up and left (without said hotel key). Note that this current NBA free agent was married with at least one kid at the time. As a result, I can see why Raleigh might appeal to him.
