  1. Doing pretty great! Got up in the pressbox for a few games this year and the post game pressers. Actually had a clandestine chat in the tunnel with Kelly... We're up to three now kiddos now.
  2. If that was the case they would likely have been more bullish than 20 right? Who's buying an Athelon because ND is ranked 20? That makes almost no sense. Texas at 13? Yeah that's more in line with your logic, not Notre Dame at 20. Look, if you're an advanced metrics guy, the S&P+ had us as a top 25 team last year despite going 4-8. It was a perfect storm of trash and if you had played that season out a 100 times there is no way we'd go 4-8 again. I still don't understand how we lost to Duke. That first half against Sparty was mind numbing, looking back it just doesn't compute how that first half happened. This team can easily go 8-4/9-3, which puts them in that 20 range right?
  3. I think a big factor too is the schedule has sizzle but no steak. Georgia and Miami are kinda just names, I am not sure either team is top 25 material right? How good is UNC going to be this year? BC, NC State, Wake, Miami Ohio, Navy, Temple...with competent QB play and a decent defense we should dispatch of these second/third team schools... The aforementioned Michigan State thing. If the talent on this team is developed and the steroids are working, we should have a base level expectation of a 10 win season. And honestly, that should be the expectation every year given the talent on the roster... We have more talent than every team we play sans USC in just about any given year. The great equalizer in terms of roster talent is QB play. That's how a Clemson, who averages about the 13th ranked recruiting class over a 5 year period, is able to beat Alabama.(#1 average in 5 year period) And I don't see a standout QB on our schedule outside Sam Darnold.
  4. I'm not. They for some reason aren't in the headlines but they have had an offseason from hell, Baylor-esque... http://www.mlive.com/spartans/index.ssf/2017/03/msu_police_send_football_sexua.html 3 players and a coach? Woof. Not only that but they still have no answer at QB...they have COUNTLESS question marks on their offensive line, they lost three starters and their best up and coming frosh to transfer...post spring game most of the big Michigan State sites out there project a 6-7 win campaign next season. Losing to Michigan State this year is a recipe for another mediocre season and grounds for regime change.
  5. Bruce Feldman ‏@BruceFeldmanCFB 5h5 hours ago #NotreDame was 103rd in the country in D before Brian Kelly switched DCs. Under Greg Hudson, they rank No. 8.. Looks like a very shrewd move
  6. I was in agreement, I'm at work and I have to make sure I scroll down immediately when I do anything on this site. I work for a Catholic Software company so...yeah...not a good look.
  7. Seriously...If you want T&A you're already on the internet...
  8. I'll give you Miami...but I think Stanford is as big a mess offensively as we are defensively...
  9. If he beats Louisville, he's going to the playoff. Big12 is down, Pac12 will eat itself. Houston, B1G, ACC, SEC. So the earliest you could hire him is January 2nd? And you would be competing against teams that will pay him 6+ million, which I don't think we would do. I just don't see a chance where we get Herman.
  10. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-notre-dame-brian-kelly-contract-extension-20160129-story.html We JUST got done paying Charlie Weis. Now we want to pay another guy to not coach us? Look, I'd love Herman, but there is no chance we lure him here. So then what? Is there a retread out there you want? You want row the boat PJ Fleck? Fire up the old get Gruden out the booth chants. Brian Kelly's biggest mistake was hiring and keeping Brian Van Gorder. There should be enough talent on this roster to have a serviceable enough defense if the scheme was worth a damn. Look what Don Brown was able to do with a bunch of scrubs at Boston College last year. So now we're three games in and 1-2. You.Can't.Fire.BVG.Now. You can't can your d-coordinator with 3/4th the season left. That won't solve any problems. 100% he is gone at the end of the season but don't expect Kelly to throw BVG under the bus fully until the end of the season. There is still a chance at a respectable finish. Let's say Kizer plays out of his mind against Stanford and Miami and we go 9-3/10-2 with shootouts all over the place. You can then fire BVG. Then get a brinks truck and either drive to Pittsburgh and get Josh Conklin or go to Houston and get Todd Orlando.
  11. God. The man to replace him was right there...We played against Don Brown's defense a week before we should have hired him. We should have backed a goddamn brinks truck up in front of BC the day after the Stanford game and paid the man. Instead he went to Michigan.
  12. Yeah so let's just throw out any analysis and ****ing **** out a stain of pessimism based on nothing but pessimism. Their freshman center played like trash, basically the Texas game was 2 things. We had no answer for Swoopes package lining up in that god awful 3-3-5 and the two long passes against Nick Coleman(72yd bomb to Burt and a 68yd to Heard, accounted for 140 of their 280yds passing) Does Michigan State feature a 250lb running back and 250lb running QB? Do they feature a tempo offense? In terms of Texas in was a bunch of inexperienced but talented Texas kids. Michigan State? By all accounts its the worst Oline and Dline Mark Dantonio has had since his first season in 2007.
  13. Really? Because outside little giants, Brian Kelly OWNS Dantonio, winning 3 of 4 Actual events are this Michigan State team is the least talented in 7 years. Their dline is folding chairs outside McDowell. Their offensive line got trashed by Furman, gave up 2 sacks and several holding calls that prevented others. And their QB? I wish my wife looked at me the way O'Connor stares down his receivers. I'm sorry. I just don't see, baring injuries, any way Michigan State is able to keep up with us in this game.
  14. Who are they throwing it to? Other than true freshman Donnie Corley, Michigan State's receiving corps is dreadful. After last year set graduated, there is a dearth of talent at the WR position for Michigan State. Outside their sketchy Oline and Secondary, it's their biggest concern.
  15. We want Stanford to win. They have the higher ceiling to remain ranked as the season wears on. Plus, USC seems like a mentally soft team(they gave up in the Alabama game) and as the losses mount, they might end up a shell of a team come November. I mean, leading up to playing us, they play Oregon, @UDub, UCLA. They could easily be 6-5 at that point.
  16. Nope. Closest was Air Force in 2011, we were up 21-3
  17. Excellent news! And it only cost us one game to get here.
  18. This game was exactly like those Michigan games from 09-11. We prop up a fallen traditional power by losing an exciting game late, thrusting their QB into the national spotlight, only to seem them meander through the rest of the season and are left wondering, "how the hell did we lose to THAT team?"
  19. With seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter Furman was down by a score. Hell with 11 minutes to go in the fourth, they picked off Tyler O'Conner and had the ball at the Sparty 44 down by a score before promptly throwing the pick that set up MSU's 28th point. Michigan State's DLine outside McDowell looked like garbage...Their new OLine gave up 2 sacks to Furman... But having said that...MSU had 120 penalty yards in the game that kept Furman in it. Plus look at their recent history against patsy openers. It always goes like this and then they right the ship and win 10+ games.
  20. Great. This is like when those ****** Rich Rod Michigan teams would beat us in an "exciting" game where our defense just whiffed. Who cares what the local papers in the area of the country that wants to prop up Texas's win says? My eyes told me our defense is incapable of performing at a top-25 level. Good thing we only play one or two top-25 level offenses.
  21. This is a team destined for disaster. Charlie Strong will be unemployed by November as this team will have at least 4 losses by then. People continue to want to hype up Texas but based on what? Hope?
  22. I would classify anything over a quarter(7g) as a good amount. A half ounce is basically where things start getting into the significant realm. So picture this in your minds eye. Take a sandwich bag, imagine it more than half full, that's significant amount for a singular person to have. So realistically, let's say 3 outta five were carrying an eighth(3.5g), that's still only 10.5 grams of weed. All four dudes would have to have an eighth on their person. In a car. Like idiots.
  23. "This is the best O line in the Charlie Strong era, and it should be able to wear down the Irish as the game goes on." Uhhh does Pete Fiutak know that Texas is down three starters on their offensive line? Does he know that one of those starters is their center? A EE true freshman who was handed the job in the spring, meaning the depth behind him must be ATROCIOUS.
  24. 12-0. There isn't a ready made loss on this schedule and I think we are going to absolutely dominate the line of scrimmage. When we want to run left, we will run left. I don't see a single front 7 outside the Michigan State game able to hold us under 200yds rushing and Michigan State's offense is going to be a train wreck.
