  1. Looks like the new punter Rendell could double as a TE or DE
  2. Just curious if there was any Intel on why McPherson left. In this day and age, you will never know as guys just come and go like that. His departure was the big head scratcher for me this offseason: firm grip on the job, doing great stat-wise and multiple years left.
  3. That is a massive wall of humans running up to the line of scrimmage
  4. Seems the WR board is already getting tight. I agree Meadows is the priority need, then you have Bettis, Taylor, Vines-Bright and now it sounds like Kobe Howard booked a visit. All for probably 2 spots.
  5. I hope we can keep our '25 S commits Taylor and Long and still land Blair
  6. Our OL haul in '25 could be really good
  7. While it stinks that he'll miss out, more important that he's 100% for the season
  8. Yep, interesting choice for him of #30
  9. A buddy who played at NU was really impressed with Hurd and thinks he' better than Joseph. Supposed to be a big thumper
  10. I noticed his senior stats when reading about his recent in-home visit. WOW. 18.1 tackles per game, 27 tackles for loss, 9 sacks, 4 forced fumbles.
  11. Not sure if this guy is legit, but he's been tweeting out that Ryan Day has been shopping himself to the NFL. OSU kids entering the portal including their starting QB.
  12. Could be our 4th QB, too, lol. Imagine if he won a natty with Bama and then one with us in lax
  13. So Freeman declared he wants 4 scholarship QBs on the roster. He also seems to have a philosophy of chasing the best kids possible (can't blame him for that). So he's probably never going to just get a "depth" player. The kids on the roster will have to rise up and beat them out. Dumb question- how can this QB thing be a done deal when the portal opens? Are they working through intermediaries? Or are players on other rosters allowed to call opposing coaches if they want?
  14. One other thing on this, but I was surprised Freeman left him and Estime in that long. I didn't see if anyone questioned that. During the game, I remembered the announcers wondering why Hartman was still I'm when it was like 41-0
  15. Damn - sorry to hear this. When it happened, I thought maybe it was just a bruise on the kneecap. Agree with other comments that he's been a beast this year and hope the other guys are ready to step up.
  16. Yes, awesome game by X. Hopefully he's now comfortable with the safety position and keeps turning out these big plays. Even beyond the turnovers he forced or recovered, he made some key tackles in important situations
  17. If we improve on 1 easy thing right away, I'd hope it's cutting penalties. One of those offsides Jean-Baptiste got called for, he wasn't even looking at the ball. That's just basic fundamentals and needs to be cleaned up. Duke's defense looked like SEC-caliber. We'll see how they do the rest of the season, but outside of Joe Alt, every other OL on our side got blown up and knocked on their butt, some guys more than once.
  18. OL is getting absolutely whipped this half. I don't think I can take another offsides, false start or Shrader missed chip shot.
  19. Them not having KVA in the top 300 just blows all their credibility for me.
  20. Some of the QBs we've had in the past like Book and Pyne needed that 1 guy because they tended to lock in on them early in the play. Hartman is so well trained at scanning the field for the open guy, which is the big difference. So many coaches and OCs I've listened to over the years all talk about keeping the defense off balance, so spreading it around creates a lot more problems for the defending team.
  21. Not sure why Tyree can't step up and catch those punts. Great stick by Harper on that last series.
  22. Best part of this game was watching the backups. I know it was an FCS school, but even our walk on RBs ran hard. Also, didn't matter in this game, but I'm not sure why the guy who knocked out Devyn Ford didn't get ejected for targeting. That was a much more egregious hit than Carter's and clearly the guy led with his head.
