  1. This season is going to be ugly for ND. They have a major deficiency on the interior due to Brey's poor roster construction management / recruiting. I only hope it forces the discussion of whether to turn the keys over to someone else. I'm grateful for some of the strong seasons Brey gave us, but it's clear he is not keeping up with what's needed in today's game.
  2. I have a feeling he is regretting what he did or his mom got to him. He is getting shredded on Insta (I'm told - I'm not on there). Will be interesting to see if he wants to come still and what the coaches would say. I'd schedule another Zoom call with all the signees, have him tell his story, have him leave and then ask the players if they think they can trust / play with him.
  3. Yeah, this whole thing is getting dirtier and dirtier by the minute.
  4. That is what I thought, too. Big blowup at the Bowen house this afternoon.
  5. Eddie Vanderdoes? I remember he was Irish up to the last minute and there was friction about releasing him from his LOI to sign with UCLA, but don't remember the web site part of it.
  6. Signed per 247: Zinter Pendleton Absher Traore Mukam Vernon Minich Hillman Houstan Ausberry Terek Drayk Bowen Minchey James Gray
  7. Seems really quiet a day before early signing. By and large, that is probably a good thing. Outside of likely losing Limar and potentially P. Bowen, transfer portal in and out has been pretty quiet too.
  8. Ironically, I watched most of that ASU / Arizona game this year and thought at the time ASU's QB (Trenton Bourguet) looked just like Pyne in a different uniform.
  9. Seems like this is him saying "I'm going to Oklahoma but it's not because of the NIL money."
  10. Yes, Limar seemed really stoked to have all the coaches visit him and meet his extended family. Sounds like we hit all the right chords on the last in home
  11. This new reality is really starting to feel like the NFL where there are 2 waves to upgrade your roster. In the NFL where you first address needs in the draft, then supplement through free agency, here you focus on locking up your incoming class early then supplement through the portal. I'm really glad to have someone like Freeman at the helm, as his work ethic shaking loose not only recruits but portal residents could really be an advantage. If we can start bringing in some undergrad transfers, that would be a game changer.
  12. I'm with you. I felt the same with A. Walker last year. Walker could have easily flipped long before he actually did without supposedly telling the staff what they wanted to hear along the way. I think sometimes a kid truly is torn, as Bowen may be, and in other cases the kid is either afraid to tell the coach they are flipping because of their relationship or they love the extra attention. Then if they make the decision right at signing day, they don't have to deal with a lot of flack since it's water under the bridge once they sign with a school.
  13. I like him. Have seen him play several times and he's tough, productive
  14. Jaeden Gould from Bergen Catholic is transferring from Nebraska.
  15. Wow - bowl game will be interesting as we'll have Angeli and then Powlus?
  16. Looks like Cade McNamara is in the portal as a graduate transfer
  17. I watched him play in the state semis last weekend. He was playing against a very good DL and was pushing guys around quite a bit. Had a few impressive pancakes as well
  18. Pretty cool - I just saw that dude in my town on Friday. Should have asked him if he was planning on flipping. I'm looking forward to seeing his teammate Marcelo Diomede who is a walk on kicker. He has a live leg.
  19. I think the IB viewpoint is fairly old, as in Clemson weekend. The barometer seemed to be that if the Clemson weekend went as well as it sounded, Bowen would then shut things down for good.
  20. I don't know the specifics, but he has really blown up as a national recruit so everyone is on him hard. Something seemed to happen prior to the Clemson game, as he was supposed to be in attendance. This is a shame since he goes to a phenomenal high school at St Ignatius in Chicago. He must be a really bright kid as that school is very difficult to get into.
  21. I'm hoping Angeli also shows strong development too. In the spring, he will have been in the program for 1 full year.
  22. If this pans out (changing the process for evaluating transfers), this would be huge for us to thrive in this new world to round out roster needs.
