  1. Hartman is ot as athletic as Book, but the things is excels at you can spot easily. The TD he threw to Greathouse where he sidestepped the blitzing LB is a play where Coan likely would have been sacked and Book would have tucked it to run. The TB to Thomas and the post route TD to Greathouse he threw in anticipation before the WR got open, which is not something Book was ever comfortable with. Yes the Greathouse post was a little underthrown, but he was about to take a shot to his knees as he threw it.
  2. The second ball to Merriweather was short and he got interfered with. I was disappointed with his early drop, but it was impressive how he blew by his guy on the 2nd. That is something in the future where Hartman should throw it sooner. As an aside, I have no idea why they waved that call off, as the ref initially threw a flag.
  3. Really happy with this outcome. Interested to see this team against some more traditional offenses now. I think our DL can really dominate against QBs sitting I'm the pocket
  4. Correct on the TEs and Mitchell Evans is the one you were missing
  5. Yep - wish him the best. He did amazing things for the program. I hope Coach Hale learned enough to carry the torch for a while.
  6. Nice jbrown! I am really stoked about this pickup. I read several people who thought OSU, so I will bask in this surprise for a while.
  7. Lot of hype articles on ND sites about KVA. How are we feeling about him? Sounds like he's at camp, shut off from contact and putting his decision in "God's hands"
  8. I'm surprised that after all these years, UA hasn't improved their footwear. I mean, you could hire some shoe experts from competitors to better understand the technology and develop a better product, unless most of shoe design is patent protected.
  9. So with Bennie-Powell committing and potentially Tae Tae, does that mean Ziglar and Miles would be out or is there a chance we take 4 safeties?
  10. Agree - interesting quote from Mencke who said Freeman told him something like "if you don't come here, we have other guys who will"
  11. Do we will take 3 more safeties if Davis is one of them and he takes a mission? He would then effectively be like a 2026 recruit.
  12. Per 247, ND landed freshman transfer Tae Davis from Seton Hall. I've seen him listed at 6'7" and 6'9" depending on the sites. The roster is rounding into shape nicely for 2023 numbers-wise.
  13. Glad to see Brauntae Johnson is still in the works.
  14. Looks like Tae Davis, 6'7" freshman from Seton Hall is visiting ND today and tomorrow. Tom Loy put in a CB for ND to land Davis. He is from Warren Central in Indianapolis.
  15. The Chicago Catholic school division is really tough to gage. It's like a 16-team super conference with teams of all size schools. I believe you play the 4 schools in your same division, then alternate and play other schools every so often. A good proxy would be to see film of him playing Marist, Brother Rice or Mount Carmel, whom they are supposed to play this year. Loyola Academy is another but I don't think Ignatius played them last year. They also play schools like Marmion Academy who are much smaller and would likely have 180 pound d-limemen. Nazareth Academy (Julian Love, JJ McCarthy, etc.) are also usually on the schedule, but as good as their teams are, they are more known for their skill guys.
  16. Things seem to be slowing on this front for the 2023 season, but Shrewsberry has done a really nice job with the additions mentioned above. A few other people ND was pursuing: Jesse Zarzuela: PG from Central Michigan committed to Oregon Ernest Udeh: 6'11" center from Kansas was expected to commit to Duke, but TCU and K-State are also in the mix Cam Spencer: 6'4" SG from Rutgers is looking at Georgetown, Maryland, Miami and UConn A transfer from Stanford but can't recall who that was. Now the focus is on '24 and '25 kids, and they have a few good ones who should visit in June: Sir Mohammed, Jackson McAndrew and Trent Sisley. They got a commit from '24 Cole Certa from IL, a 6'4" SG who is supposed to be a great shooter
  17. Feels like Dante Moore. Even if he visits for say the OSU game, it's a bummer he missed a chance to hang out with the other commits at the spring game and during June visits.
  18. Great pick up at a position of need this cycle. I heard yesterday he checked in at his last visit at 6'4.5", so he is even still growing.
  19. Interesting development that so many LBs are now lined up for visits: Shaw, Cole, Flowers, etc. Those domino's are starting to fall quickly. I thought the staff would only take 3 LBs this year, so I'm wondering with Kollie leaving if they take 1 of the 3 listed above (assuming 1 wanys to come) and then Kingston is a take regardless.
  20. Well, looks like he chose Georgia over ND and WVa
  21. RJ Sunahara, a graduate transfer 6'8" PF is on campus today. He's coming from a D2 program, so not sure how his game would translate, but he did average 18+ ppg. https://www.ndinsider.com/story/sports/mens-basketball/2023/05/08/from-fairmont-wva-state-to-nova-fla-southeastern-to-notre-dame/70186683007/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter_SBTribune
  22. Agreed - when I heard about how Shrewsberry is known as a big recruiter (ad well as Farrelly his assistant), I also have been very interested to see how he pulls a roster together This will be a bit of a motley crew this year, and I'm not sure how many games they will win, but I'm excited to see what he builds.
