  1. 154. Really! Of those three, Howard Cosell turned out to be the ‘normal’ one.
  2. Yeah it’s the constant hype and drama. I understand the hype for now, they’re trying to build up CU football. Eventually all the drama week after week gets tiresome.
  3. Yes Barry Alvarez for sure. He is a legend at Wisconsin. Another one is Mike Elko. It’s still early days for him at Duke, but he seems to be doing great there. Do you think sometimes he lays awake at night, kicking himself, thinking ‘man, if I would have played my cards right, I’d be HC at Norte Dame right now’?
  4. 150 By using big data, Wal-Mart determined that people stock up the most on strawberry Pop-Tarts and beer before a hurricane.
  5. Yeah, I am agreeing with you here. I’m not saying that, by itself, the Florida/Tennessee game will be a good one. Rather, out of the very weak slate of games on tap this week, this is probably one of the better matchups to watch. Anyway, who doesn’t like to see Florida getting beat!
  6. Yeah this is certainly another blah week for college football. Best game should be Florida/Tennessee - I'm going with Tennessee here. I think Florida is going to struggle this season (again) Games that could be interesting: Washington/MSU - well, before the shit hit the fan with the HC. Pittsburgh/W Va - don't they call this one the backyard brawl? Could be a good one, although I have no interest in either of these teams. Minnesota/No Carolina - they are are both 2-0, so they got that going for them, which is nice. So Carolina/Georgia - gotta hope Carolina gives them a game. This week's slate of games is pretty sad!
  7. Don’t know if these allegations are true or not, but this could be a great opportunity for MSU to get out from that terrible 10 year extension they gave him. This contract, to me, is just a total head scratcher. I can just imagine the MSU admin waking up from a bad dream, saying ‘we gave 10 years / $95 mil to who??? 555 https://www.npr.org/2023/09/10/1198717379/michigan-state-football-coach-mel-tucker-sexual-harassment-allegations https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/investigations/2023/09/10/michigan-state-football-coach-sexual-harassment-claim/70679703007/
  8. Not understanding the hatred and vitriol towards Tommy Rees here. I understand you don’t think he’s any kind of competent OC, but jackass and assclown? C’mon now.
  9. A good win for sure. The TD throw to Greathouse was a thing of beauty. I like how Hartman spreads the ball around and not just keying on 1-2 guys to target. And it will only get better as now Hartman has a few games under his belt with his new teammates. NC St has a pretty good D so that has to enter in the equation when evaluating the O this game. Do you think part of the D game plan was forcing the QB to stay in the pocket and not let him loose to run around and create?
  10. Yeah hard to choose between the 2, bama and Texas, both bad choices! Same with Miami & Texas a&m, or so I thought. It turns out I’m glad Miami is kicking a&m butt.
  11. I'm taking ND to the tune of 34-13. Don't think NC St is that good this year. Want to see the D continue their stellar play from the 1st 2 games and the O keep spreading the ball around.
  12. Thanks for doing this NDHoosier! A better slate of games compared to last week, but not by much. Yeah Colorado/Nebraska. Hoping for Nebraska here, also interested to see how CU does against some better D's. Deion is, well, Deion, for better or for worse. Illini and Kansas - probably a close game but also not an exiting one either. Texas A&M/Miami - hard to root for either of these two. Hope they both fall flat. Could be a pretty good game though. Texas/Alabama - I think Texas really hasn't done that much under Sark, outside of beating bama last season. I question their early season #11 ranking. Don't think they will win this one, but they could make it interesting. My guess is UCLA over San Diego St and USC over Stanford, and neither game is close. And ND will have a fairly easy time against NC St, unless there's a hurricane on the way. Oh wait, we don't have that coach anymore.
  13. 120 I’m feeling somewhat vindicated here 😎
  14. Yeah not a ton of interesting games. For me its: Florida/Utah (Go Utah) Nebraska/Minnesota - Matt Rhule intrigue Colorado/TCU - of course it's Deion No Car/So Car - could be quite an interesting game LSU/FSU - Yeah, go FSU Clemson/Duke - is Duke for real and does anyone think that Mike Elko sez to himself, 'geez, i coulda been HC at ND?
  15. 92 🍅🍅🍅 Today, in the small town of Buñol, Spain, trucks will haul more than 100 tons of tomatoes to serve as ammo for the world’s largest food fight. Known as La Tomatina, the festival is held the last Wednesday of August and draws a crowd of 20,000 tomato-flingers who clearly don’t mind being left on red. No one knows how this tradition began, but the town is probably eager to keep it going. Because of the citric acid of the tomatoes strewn everywhere, the clean-up leaves Buñol more sparkling than it was before.
  16. I think the NFL'er that would add the most to this team is Kyle Hamilton. Another safety to pair with Watts would have the most impact. Adding another O-lineman, whether Q or Zack Martin etc, is just adding to the riches already there. Safety is the biggest need.
  17. 1 hour ago, D Fence said: Hartman is ot as athletic as Book, but the things is excels at you can spot easily. The TD he threw to Greathouse where he sidestepped the blitzing LB is a play where Coan likely would have been sacked and Book would have tucked it to run. I watched that play and my first thought was wow, haven't seen an ND QB make a play like that in a long time. I am all in on Sam Hartman. Better than Ian Book, better than Jack Coan, for sure!
  18. Great win. Hard to tell at this point if ND is that good, Navy that bad or a combination of those things. An excellent start to the season in any case. I'm not so worried about the blown coverages since it looked like the D was committed to stopping the run and happy to risk some pass completions. Meriweather will get his shots, I think Hartman will be spreading that ball around, which is great to see. Would be great to get Angeli/Minchey some snaps, but OTOH Hartman needs the work with his new teammates also. All in all, a great opening game to the season.
  19. Great job Faith. This was pretty cool to follow, thanks!
