  1. I don't see the Purdue offense being very effective against our D and don't believe their defense can keep up. So that makes it ND 38 Purdue 10. I think Purdue - Navy would be a pretty close game. Cheers.
  2. It's 8:10 in the evening here and this is a first as I am able to watch an ND game live on the CBS website!!! First ND game I've seen live without being in the US! Sweet...
  3. Yes the national media would be the most surprised by far. Most, if not all of them are predicting us to struggle given our schedule. Personally, I would be pleasantly surprised as well, given our recent track record. But I am optimistic enough to think it is certainly possible.
  4. August 18 looks a likely date to me. Enough time for evaluation of the QB's and also it leaves plenty of time for the winner (Golson) to get the majority of the 1st team reps to prepare for the opener.
  5. Under the vid on Fox Sports, it states he is (was) committed to Arkansas. Does anyone know if he actually was and then decommitted?
  6. WE lose another RB You can't lose something you never had to begin with.
  7. Brian Kelly was the right choice when he was hired and I haven't seen much that would change my opinion. 100% support for BK from this precinct. As far as the QB indecision/choice last season, I just don't think there was a 'good choice' to be made.
  8. That was just instinct. Kind of like running from the cops. -Marquis Weeks, Virginia running back, on a kickoff return for a touchdown
  9. What if Tommy shows significant improvement from last year and Hendrix, Golson and Kiel do not step up and distinguish themselves this spring? What would you do if you were BK? Gawd, I hope that doesn't happen and don't think it will. These guys are still just kids and it's not unheard of for them to dramatically improve from one year to the next. I remember a USC QB by the name of Vince Evans, they had bumper stickers that read "save USC football, shoot Vince Evans" his junior year. The following year he led USC to something like 11-1 and top 3 ranking. It does happen. But I sure hope Golson, Hendrix and Kiel all rise to the occasion! Cheers.
  10. Thankfully, there is a 12 hour time difference here in Bangkok and I slept soundly through this entire drama. Woke up this am and saw the great news that Davonte is Irish! Then I read today's posts in this thread, wow, that was entertaining. In the words of the immortal Sgt. Hulka, some of you need to "Lighten up, Francis".
  11. So the correct term for members of a frat is not 'frat rats'?
  12. When shit happens, it's human nature for someone to put a good spin on things so they don't come out of it as 'the bad guy'. Happens all the time. So Darby de-committed and signed elsewhere, a fair question is who turned their back on who?
  13. Really....a 5 star #1 rated QB, who needs him? After all, our QB play this year and last year has been truly stellar.
  14. Hear, hear Hawaii, getting one of the two, either Keil or Fuller would be fine with me.
  15. I'm pretty sure if you look up oxymoron in the dictionary, they give 'great karaoke bar' as an example.
  16. Hawaii, certainly you are aware of what the exact message is you are trying to convey in your posts. However in this case, perhaps that message did not come through to the masses as intended. Ergo the reaction (panic mode) to this particular post.
  17. Talk about yin and yang.... the above posted shortly after posting this on another thread: No need to get too upset here---its football and there are going to be injuries--we can't lobby for hard tough practices instead of coddling and then complain much at injuries. Without any info--i can say that jonas and the MCL sprain does not sound too worrisome---MCL sprains usually DO NOT require either surgery or long periods of rehab---yes he will miss the REST OF SPRING but should likely be fine by fall. The watt injury is somewhat more concerning---but Nuss is a fine player at Guard--we have depth--and we don't even know the extent of the injury-- lets wait for more info but this does not YET sound like panic city at all. aloha's go irish!
  18. Question regarding the NCAA sanctions. The recruiting sanctions are not being enforced yet pending the outcome of the appeal, correct? So why was the bowl ban in play for last season? I would think all the sanctions would be on hold until the appeal process has played out, but it seems some have been enforced and others not. What gives with this?
  19. The missionaries are a fairly common site pedaling around on their bicycles with the obligatory white shirts, black ties and name tags. In and around the decent size towns/cities it is quite easy to find places to work out. I have lived in some pretty remote places and have always run into some local guys that have manufactured their own set of weights to work out with. Rudimentary but effective. The point being is if you're really into working out, it can be done. Interestingly when I was in the Peace Corp, it was very typical for the guys to lose weight and the ladies to pack on a few pounds. (They blamed it on all the rice they ate)
