  1. Also the coaches will have the built in excuse of why we get smoked in a bowl game when it comes to negative recruiting, so I guess there’s that…
  2. Definitely think he could bolster our DL rotation. Reminds me of a more athletic Riley Mills. Get this guy and the guy from Stanford and call the DL good for next year (assuming there aren't major transfers out).
  3. Brennon Armstrong, the UVA QB, is entering the portal. He had a phenomenal 2021 year, but regressed last year after losing is entire OL and OC to Syracuse. If we get the 2021 version, he'd be a no-brainer for ND.
  4. Completely agree. I imagine in the coming weeks, we'll see some guys transfer out. No idea who, but it'll happen. Then again after spring practice. It seems in years past we've seen 10-12 guys leave every year. Typically, those aren't really guys in the two-deep. I'd suspect that number will be higher this year and include some two-deep guys. ND has to be in position to take on transfer to absorb bigger losses than in year's past. Sounds like there are at least discussions along those lines happening.
  5. I would agree with all but the last one, ha. I still think MF and TR learned their lesson at QB last year and bring in a quality transfer. Id be SHOCKED if Minchey starts a game next year, let alone the first
  6. There's a possibility of a few additions, and I'd imagine there will be a variety of departures, but this is mostly what things look like heading into spring ball. OFFENSE: QB Hartman Buchner Angeli Minchey RPIII RB Estime Diggs Price Payne ATH (I added this b/c I think we have several guys that will fall into the RB or Slot, depending on formation) Tyree (If he stays) Love WR Styles Flores WR Colzie Merriweather Greathouse WR Kaleb Smith Thomas James TE Evans Raridon (if he can get healthy) Staes Baumen Flanagan LT Alt Baker Chan Jaguash LG Schrauth (sounds like he’s been impressing) Absher C Correll Coogan Otting RG Kristofic or Spindler Craig Pendelton Terek RT Fisher Johnson Wagner DEFENSE VYP Jean-Baptiste Botello Ekwono Burnham Zinter DT Mills Cross Onye Ford Hinish NT Rubio Transfer? Keanaaina DE Mensah Ehrensberger Gobaira Traore MLB Bertrand or Tuihalamaka Ziegler Bowen WLB Kollie Liufau ROV Sneed (I sure hope he can overtake Kiser with his athleticism) Kiser Ausberry RS Watts or Henderson Lewis Shuler LS Harper or Brown Minich CB Morrison Gray CB Hart Mickey Bell
  7. I’ll probably work up a projected depth chart thread. Tho there will likely be a lot of moving lives in the coming weeks
  8. Just got back from Hawaii myself a few weeks ago and trying to hold on to my more relaxed self, but it was tough after that game.
  9. According to the Athletic, it seems ND is reconsidering its stance on the transfer portal and the extent and timeliness they move. I’m hoping this means undergrads in good standing are now an option. This would be huge for ND to get to the next level. Quite frankly, without it, they can’t take themselves seriously in their desire to compete for NCs. Let’s hope this manifests into difference makers at key positions, especially QB.
  10. It is mind boggling that ND has had two-ish decent quarterbacks in 20+ years.
  11. Any of the top QBs are going to be primarily motivated by NIL. This is an area ND should be able to compete. If they don’t, we won’t get any of the top guys being considered.
  12. I mean, only if he's the last option, I guess. I think there's at least 4 or 5 other guys we'd want to take a run at before him.
  13. Saw that too. Obviously still some moving pieces. Would be nice to stick it to another SEC team. But another meaningless bowl game that will largely depend on who plays and who sits. I’d bet a lot of money that neither Mayer or Foskey will play. Biggest benefit of any bowl game is the 15 extra practices. I hope a bunch of young guys get meaningful reps.
  14. I don’t have anything against Pyne. He gave it his all and is a ND guy through and through. It’s not his fault he’s limited in many ways. Those numbers obviously only tells a portion of the story. He did his best and was 8-2. This team could have folded after 0-2 and they didn’t. And Pyne gets some credit for that. But ND needs a difference maker at QB. That’s not a shot at Pyne. Just the reality of college football today.
  15. Several 15 yard personal fouls would have been worth it. Just sayin…
  16. It’s not that Pyne played “bad”. The two turnovers resulted in at least a 14 point swing, which obviously was the game. But when you look at the other side and can see how much a game changing QB can influence a the result, you see how much room for improvement we have. Ive said it before and I’ll say it again, we’re in the playoff this year with a good QB. We’d be undefeated with CW at QB.
  17. He’s a first year head coach. That comes with growing pains. If that’s still a problem after year 3, sure. Let the guy recruit. The roster deficiencies are on BK and the admin. Again, this team is a good QB from 11-1
  18. Tacking not good. CW is a great player but what a douche canoe. ND was a good QB away from another playoff birth. Next 30 days will be wild. Lots of players in and out I’d assume. Buckle up.
  19. I agree but give Rees CW and Riley DP and the score goes the other way tonight.
