  1. Don't care what's happening with him and his "fuh-amily"
  2. Yup. This would have every appearance of a top notch hire and would create legit momentum for us to build off of. Hard to judge his recruiting at Florida and they inexplicably underutilized Dameon Pierce, but they did a lot of other things right. And, flipping Hurts from a borderline bust into an MVP candidate cannot be dismissed. This is the first name I've heard that grabs my attention.
  3. <George O'Leary has entered the chat> 😏
  4. Just saw an update that they're hoping to start interviews by next week and currently conducting phone calls.
  5. I've seen the name Brian Lindgren thrown out there (OC at Ore St.). I know nothing about him but sharing here in case another member of the community does.
  6. If you're looking for a silver lining, there can be no doubt that ND has graduated from being a "farm system for bottom dweller's of the Big 12" to "a farm system for the top of the SEC"
  7. A coordinator at Rees' level has zero issues with getting reamed out. You don't make it to that level without being around people that are willing to hurt feelings if that's what it takes to succeed. He might enjoy having more latitude and it might be possible that Freeman gives him that, but he won't turn down Saban (or leave him early) because he got yelled at.
  8. I'm sure that I'll be totally in the minority here, but I think this is totally awesome. Both sides get in bed with dogs and wind up with fleas. In the past, one side wouldn't have had to deal with the reputation hit of being a slave to their own greed. The more that "Free Sneaker U's" get caught jerking recruits around, better for us. The more that there's universities out there waving the kind of cash that attracts mercenaries, the better for us.
  9. well, "pay for play" is allowed. I mean, I get what you're getting at but technically, everything here is in line within the rules. A "3rd party" signs an agreement for an incoming player and he decides he wants to transfer out.
  10. Love kids of former college/pro players. That hit rate just goes way up.
  11. This has hardly been a problem on OL recruiting dating back like 15 years. Of all position groups not named "TE", we've pulled talent consistently (both blue chips and 3-stars that hit). This includes a nice long stretch with Heistand. If he's offering a 3-star, I'm not stressing about it.
  12. prayers for her, you and your shared family and loved ones
  13. Happy for them both. They put in the effort, delivered and were great ambassadors for the program. They are both huge losses, no doubt about that. Hate to see them go. I sure hope they land in Chicago at the next level but I'll root for them all the same.
  14. 103 pages of a posts. I never thought I'd see that many on a "Deion Sanders Takes Buffs Job" thread.
  15. Don't know much about Leary but have seen some good things about him. Anybody have particular insights to offer?
  16. I dunno. Much of this is subjective and I don't see an easy way to pull data, but OP's comment rattled off about 10 names. Compare that to this list... https://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-football-depth-charts/active-nfl-players-by-college/notre-dame/91487 And it's easy to get to 15 names of players that are making a definite impact in the NFL. And, that doesn't even account for the fact that half of the names OP listed (Floyd, Watt, T'eo, Walls and Allen) all passing through the NFL like a bad taco. It's legitimate to say that Weis left better players at WR. Beyond that? 🤷‍♂️ Take away WR (and possibly QB) and I'd easily prefer every other position group in '22 to '12.
