Justice Kennedy Retiring

Recommended Posts

Dear Justice Kennedy, Thank you so much for this offseason entertainment. Usually, I have to wait until college sports begin in the fall to enjoy the weekly meltdowns on various message boards, especially when the meltdowns occur on USC, Michigan, or Alabama message boards. However, your announcement to retire, today, has provided some rare offseason entertainment as I watch liberals across the country meltdown about the fact that President Trump will have the opportunity to nominate someone to fill your role who actually analyzes the law and rules accordingly, versus wearing a justice who wears emotions on his or her sleeve rules in accordance with what he or she believes the law should be... (I'm looking at you, Sotomayor) Thank you for allowing President Trump to identify a professional to fill the vacancy who as opposed to a toddler who ignore logic but parades around claiming the mantel of moral superiority, even when it directly conflicts with the Constitution or federal statutes. And, finally, thank you again for providing the opportunity to watch liberals flame about your retirement. It's truly glorious. Best regards...

With the way that rhetoric has heated up in social media, I'm thinking that all the Supreme Court justices require more security now than ever before.

It is my belief that it is now almost impossible to have reasonable disagreements without being labeled, tarred, and feathered. Social media encourages radicalism on both the right and the left, and news outlets put the crazies in the headlines all the time because it sells. This just fuels the animosity that is developing, and I think that very harmful things are coming in the near future because of it.

I'm predicting here and now:

When the next democrat is elected president (almost certainly in the 2020 election), within 12 months there will have been an attempted assassination of one of the conservative members of the Supreme Court.

I don't know what type of security they have now, but the way things are going I think they need round-the-clock security everywhere they go. All of them.

Most American's don't know the justices, couldnt pick them out on a lineup or have any idea about the intricacies of most of the cases.

I’m generally a Republican, but also Pro Choice (w/in reason). I don’t want Roe v Wade to be overturned, but I am enjoying all of the Socialist/far left babies curse out an 81 yr old man who decided to retire. I was irked when that Socialist won the NY Primary, but this turned my day around.

Since when has not knowing the details ever prevented anyone from acting foolishly? Both fringes are dangerous, the only difference is the Fringe Right doesn’t post their threats on social media.

The Fringe Right absolutely posts their threats on social media and it is glorious. Love unhinged people getting frisky behind the keyboard, regardless of position, a good rant is a good rant.

Also, Trump JUST threatened Harley Davidson with increased taxes and revenue decreases on Twitter like yesterday.

No doubt.

If I sat next to a Supreme Court justice today I probably wouldn't recognize him/her.

But if I were planning to harm a Supreme (and for any NSA people monitoring these comments, I promise I'm not), I would have done some research regarding where he lives, where he likes to eat out, etc. You know, like James Hodgkinson did when he shot up the GOP baseball practice one year ago.

Bad people with serious intent may not act randomly.

So, of course most Americans don't know the justices. But someone with intent probably does. And the rhetoric today coupled with that baseball incident last June leads me to believe that bad things are ahead for people who are making decisions that other people don't like.

You read Pelosi's comments trying to downplay that primary or that the socialists were taking over the DNC? Ummm Nancy, have you ever listened to yourselves? Or have you had a conversation with Bernie before? You know Mr. Democratic Socialism the party actually screwed to anoint HRC.

Nothing new though. There's someone targeted every so often. It's odd though that many of these individuals usually come from the radical left spectrum, even against Democrats.

I like to remind people that Obama made it through two elections and his entire eight years, despite America being the most corrupt, racist place on the planet. What are the odds the the first black president who all the white people hated could stay alive all those years? I can't say that working his presidential detail was any different than the rest in my 20 years, and yes we do get a lot of VIP visits during primary season.

The first part is just wrong. Head over to Reddit if you don't believe me. I will bow out of this discussion but extreme fringe people on either side are just as dangerous.

It’s not wrong. Check out twitter. Why would I make this up? People from all persuasions threaten everyone and everything online. Aside from memes and porn, anonymous threat is pretty much why the internet exists.

Looks like I replied to the wrong comment. I was disagreeing with a previous poster's assumption or believe that it is only the left that makes threats.

Completely not an exaggeration at all. /s

Yep, then Obama tried to sneak his guy Garland through just before his term of office was done but the GOP would have none of it. Good for them! Gorsich was a great choice by Trump.

This is why the two sides can’t get along. You seriously believe wavehands looney tunes statement? And that it was all on purpose for Obama to get a nominee? Oh boy. Btw it was totally legal and just for Obama to nominate someone, your party are the crooks. Gerrymandering, suppressing votes ect.

See what you did? Now your people are going off the rails.
