nico7980 0
My question to the gun aficionados. Can one of you explain this to me? Now I'm not a huge fan of the gun culture.. But I do understand and recognize why people want and have them.. How is it possible that a 13 yr old can buy a gun.. But is unable to buy lotto tickets, beer, get a license, buy porn, or cigs? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/PIFiJdw0uME" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Help me? nickman54 0
Why is Real Sports reporting on this? They set the kid up to try to buy booze, that's a misdemeanor. Pathetic to use children to push an agenda. Also the guy that sold him that rifle set himself up for a whole lotta trouble if the kiddo hurts himself. What's the difference between what was just displayed. And what cops do when they try to bust convenience stores for doing the same thing? Answer.. Nothing.. Your mind couldn't be changed no matter what I say. Look at the last time they tried to pass gun control legislation, it was destroyed. Try better next time. I could point to the fact that the cities in the US with the absolute most stringent gun control laws have the worst murder and gun related crimes happening, but you would scoff at that as well. Manners and civility make a society great, we lack them in the inner city. Everybody in the Dakotas has guns, but you don't see them killing each other at the rate we do in the inner city. Oh and before you call me a racist a good portion of my family is not white, and I love them just the same.

I live in the Dakotas the Southern One I grew up in Nebraska which is the same pretty much in gun ownership. Everyone around here is taught to respect guns and their power. Problem is when you have an idiot who buys them for that power and uses them irresponsibly, but I shouldn't be punished for that person's irresponsibility. Hell lets ban cars because drunks get behind the wheel and kill people... By the way heard the grand news that Piers "the redcoat" Morgan lost his show and he publicly said it was because he was constantly banging the drum of banning guns... America will never let their guns be taken...
Scotty88 0
Manners and civility make a society great, we lack them in the inner city. Rural areas are known for being unwelcome to city folk that don't look like them. Civil? I guess it depends on perspective. I think there's a certain amount of common sense that is missing from both sides of the gun argument. Problem has been finding the gray area, second is agreeing upon it. Each public shooting makes the argument more intense. This isn't going away anytime soon.

I know your smarter than that, plus that is not even part of the argument. 2- "Common Sense" was a talking head term used by the anti gun brigade in the last debate, instantly stupid. 3- This is very important, read this closely.. The gun that good ol boy Jake bought was a bolt action 22lr. This rifle is quite possibly the most non lethal killing machine that you will ever see sold at a gun show. It is not the nasty baby killing black rifle that old Feinstein breaks out at all of her rallies. As I said earlier, the man that sold that rifle to the kid,, opened himself up to a world of ****. And to answer Nicos question about how this whole thing is different.. Gumbel is not part of law enforcement, nor does he have the right to sanction this.. If anyone knows or did 5 minutes of research on gun laws in this country, they would know that that seller did not try to find out that the kid was a proper buyer. Oh well. nickman54 0
To all that have replied and will reply in this thread. I would be glad to take anyone of you guys out shooting, on my dime, and show you the other side of what you see in the media. Especially you Scotty, I know our personal politics do not quite match up, but I think most of us are not that far apart on what we think our country should be. Anyway that may have sounded like I have a man crush on Scotty, which I don't.. I will gladly answer any questions on the issue that was brought forward, as long as my questions are answered as well. If you are I am just curious to which one and area of the country because we had a lot of city people move to the rural area where I lived and they were always accepted as one of the community. Hell a new face and/or family is exciting because not much changes people wise.

My wife has relatives in southern Indiana and a family that moved into their town over ten years ago are still referred to as the "new folks". This cant be true. Standard operating procedure in southern Indiana is to first butt rape the "new folks" then welcome them as your own. davislove 0
And he also dodged my question... Thanks for pointing it out though. I shouldnt have to explain to you how a conversation works. If someone ask youva question--you answer it. Not ask your own question and go on some rant that sorta a different topic.

You haven't made a point about anything that has to do with anything in this thread. You've made it a point to follow me around, for some reason. I never read the poster's name in a reply until it becomes a back and forth. If you think I follow you around then obviously you make a lot of questionable comments. Not sure why your panties are so bunched. Starting to wonder if you're stable enough to own a gun.

nico7980 0
I've got no problem with guns. I just purchased my own a couple weeks ago. My problem is with those who think any gun regulation is an "infringement on their right to carry". No one wants your damn guns. Get over it. I believe that anyone who sells a gun has to do a background check. Especially at gun shows. That place is easy pickings. Oh and you didn't answer my question.
